Bumblebees make false memories too

It's well known that our human memory can fail us. People can be forgetful,
and they can sometimes also 'remember' things incorrectly, with devastating
consequences in the classroom, courtroom, and other areas of life. Now,
researchers show for the first time that bumblebees can be unreliable
witnesses too.

It explains so much I have wondered about over the years. It can also help I think in those situations where people don't remember every detail right to not discount the whole memory over details that do not pertain. For example if three people witness a car accident it is not out of the realm of possibility that they will say that the car was blue, brown, or purple. A defense lawyer will try to discredit the testimony of the witnesses based on that detail that really doesn't pertain to whether or not there was a crash and which driver if either were at fault.
