Shots fired into the Davidson Center at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, Huntsville Times

"Someone fired three shots into the Davidson Center for Space Exploration at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center at about 10 a.m., but no one was injured, space center officials said. The shots, which appear to have come from somewhere along Interstate 565, police said, put a hole in the Saturn V rocket on display inside and broke three windows."

Officials said the Saturn V has one puncture and another small mark from where a bullet struck it. At least one bullet was recovered and is in the possession of Huntsville police. Police didn't immediately release what caliber bullet was used in the shooting.

1. I understand why they put the launch facilities in Florida...

...I don't understand why they put Mission Control and other critical NASA facilities in some of the least-educated parts of the country.
