Next time you're drinking a soda leave just a little in the bottom of the can. it doesn't have to be much, maybe a quarter inch.

Then tilt it and balance it on the edge. the top will lean far over the CG and appear glued to the table.

I works because the soda at the bottom lowers the CG and counters the aluminum hanging out over center. Fun to do at a bar, if we ever go to one again.

Is the water bottle pushed back under the edge of the table in the video in the OP, by the 3rd toothpick placement? If so, then yes, it's the same as the hammer and the forks.

But I don't really see it as changing the center of gravity as in the balancing horse toy, balancing hammer trick, etc.
