The Girls, Guys and Society pictures have to do with romantic/sexual love. Oh, wait, maybe some Christians are sexually turned on by the thought of bloody Jesus on a cross.

Yes, in a series of cats, often rescues and occasionally barn cats who wanted indoors, who decided I was OK as far as monkeys go and displayed abundant affection and even gratitude. In fact, there's one in my lap right now, nuzzling my hand and making it hard to type. She's just been fed, so this is affection instead of wheedling.

I've found love with friends, lovers, coworkers and the like, but no one has come close to beating the unconditional affection from cats. And a few dogs.

I never got anything but acute boredom and occasional outrage in any building that featured a plaster effigy of a bleeding man on a cross.

Animals are the best place to find love---and especially rescues who have not always had a good life.

But I have to say that dogs can be as good as cats. All animals have a higher capacity for love than humans seem to have.

Animal love is not unconditional (as is often said)... just try not feeding them for a week or two...

But it is GENUINE.

Sexism, species shame, torture porn, and a complete misunderstanding of the concept of love.

Yep, sounds like the bible belt.

How revealing that the "where guys think they'll find it" panel merely contains the printed word "sex" rather than a physical depiction of the act, even abstractly, to fit in with the other panels.

Apparently the sex act is just too awful to be depicted, unlike the last panel which depicts the victim of a bloody murder as the very epitome of love.

The "actually find it" pic is from the famous S&M/snuff movie, Passion of the Christ. I Googled the movie title, clicked "Images," and it popped right up on a Time magazine site:

Oy...

well if you love pretentious crap.

Exactly having it in Aramaic with subtitles contributed....what?... exactly? And that's just one example of "look how smart we are!" movie-excess.

We can say the creators of an object failed to live up to our current standards and current tastes.

And the observer of a made object cannot correctly perceive the creator's qualities and skills?

Objective qualities can be perceived, such as being bipedal, but subjective qualities are projected, such as pretentiousness. Skills can be perceived, but judgements on those skills are subjective, and therefore projected.
