Judgment (1990, HBO): Yes, NINETEEN-DAMN-NINETY!! HBO movie based on the Louisiana case of priest Gilbert Gauthe, who pleaded guilty to 11 counts of molestation in October 1985. With Keith Carradine, Blythe Danner and Jack Warden.

I haven't seen this one in years, but I do remember one thing about it. The movie mentioned that, even way back then, the church's insurance companies were warning that Gauthe might be only the tip of the iceberg. And the companies would stop paying molestation claims unless the Church took steps to fix the problem.

TRIGGER WARNING - the Catholic Church vehemently attacked this movie, calling it "distorted fiction" and accusing the filmmakers of having an agenda.

Our Fathers (2005, Showtime): the same story covered in "Spotlight," about the Boston Globe trying to report on the scandal and repeatedly being stonewalled/lied to. With Ted Danson and Christopher Plummer as an especially chilling and creepy Cardinal Law.

If you like documentaries, check out Amy Berg's "Deliver Us From Evil," about the case of Father Oliver O'Grady. Sentenced to prison in California for molestation. Deported to Ireland, where the Church did nothing to warn locals about O'Grady's history:

And Alex Gibney's "Mea Maxima Culpa - Silence in the House of God," about molestation at a Catholic school for deaf kids:

I'll check them out later. I think I've had enough of this dark subject for a while.

...who are defenseless enough as it is, but DEAF kids? Those sick fuckers can never be dead enough. And their sick fucking apologists here too. Yes, if you go to catholic church you are supporting kid fuckers. Deal with it.
