Poll: What would you wear during the zombie apocalypse?

We are discussing this on Facebook and I think I would raid an outfitter's for close fitting, durable athletic wear made from breathable synthetics. Jeans are heavy which is good for protection but cotton absorbs sweat and doesn't dry very fast. I would also make sure most of my arms and all of my legs were covered so my skin would be protected from scratches and bites.

*Yes I know there are more important things to discuss but we can chew gum and walk at the same time. A pleasant diversion can be cathartic.

Buy since Zombie Jesus is a touchy subject I thought it would be more appropriate to put it here instead of in the religion forum.

Over the years we have discussed countless different subjects and shared personal thoughts and observations that have nothing to do with atheism in this group, in fact that's why most of us are so close and are friends outside of DU. Why on earth would I stop now?

* note to jury

Disclaimer: this is the atheist and agnostic group where we poke fun at religion. If Zombie Jesus offends you it's probably a good idea to avoid this group during Easter.

Since I work from home (heh hehehehehehhhehehe) my work outfit has gone from PJ's (Scrubs) to, well, leggings and t-shirts. From one comfortable outfit to another ha ha haha! Also at least working from home means no bra and no shoes, either. I don't know which item of clothing I hate more: shoes or bras.

I saw a t-shirt that said "I would push you in front of a zombie to save my cat."

The problem is two-fold:
1. They never stop. All they have to wait until you can't go anymore. Kind of like persistent hunting.
2. Hordes are the problem. Which can usually be avoided if you are smart, but once you get more than a couple, you are likely in big trouble.

But, seriously, you're going to pull a Shane?

But eventually we're going to run out of bullets, when that happens we'll have to use clubs, knives, swords, etc and constant exposure to blood spatter and gore can be hard on fabrics.

...for a day before the chaffing became too much.

Then I'd then ditch the armor and be reduced to deciding among the old standard Sword and Shield, Glaive or Katana.

I think Katana wins out as being the most nimble and light weight overall for those quick retreats from the swarm.

But similar to Warpy, I'm older and out of shape, compared to the 20-something competition, and would likely lose a foot race with any Fast Zombies™ or even some of the Fast Walkers™.

Either way, I would go down swinging while trying and knock as many of those damn red-maga-hats to the ground as possible.

I'd do my best Gimili impression at Helms Deep: "Sixteen", "Seventeen", "Eighteen-ah"...

Phone/video player containing zombie movies for training purposes? Left leg pocket. Space remaining for scavenging? Oh yeah.

A knapsack would just slow you down and if you were separated from the group you'd need the basics. I would add a water bottle with filter and/or purification tablets. And some rope. Oh and duct tape.
