It's merely a statement. This dude believes that Athiest don't have one big f*cking lie to believe in before they die.....yeah, so what. The god believer still dies just exactly like the Athiest. Having a lie to hang onto doesn't make death any different.

God is a scam to control you while you are alive. It does nothing for you after you die. Dead is dead. Athiest or god believer.

Believers don't know that.

My brother, a hardcore atheist like myself, was with my mother the last hrs of her life and before she took her last sleep in which she died, he asked her if she was scared. She gave him an emphatic "NO! Why would I be scared?"

She was so dogmatically sure she was going to gawd!! In some small way, I envy such ignorant, stupid dogma. But I never respect it!! Thinking: "There's more to come and I'm not ending" is comforting.

Unsurprisingly, she was an ignorant repub too who also thought the sun went around the earth, that she was smart because she made a lot of money, and that everyone loved her. She never doubted her beliefs and was content & happy most of her life. Although, she always worked very hard, she reasoned like a spoiled child.
Narcissistic? Oh, hell yes.

Sometimes, "ignorance is bliss."

P S. You can imagine how she & I got along. And the therapy I've been through.

Funny, my Mom started out as a good Catholic girl. She even had a short stint as a nun. As she got older, she believed less and less in a god. In the end, she hoped for something more but knew there really wasn't. But she was never afraid to die. She just accepted it as part of reality.

As a child I believed the Catholic line. But as I saw no evidence of any god in my life, I just got more and more Athiest. First I pulled away from Cathocism. Then gave up on all organized religions. Then thought there might be some spiritual life. Then just gave it all up as I saw absolutely no evidence of any magical spirit in my life.

And now I see all the damage religion does to society and people. It really is dangerous psychological manipulation.

We tell children fairy tales to entertain & make them happy.

I've faced death & it was most scary to me but didn't drive me back into fairy-tale religion.

Btw, sure nice to know there are fellow atheists here.
