I ranted against the pope in front of my Republican-voting, fundamentalist-leaning in-laws yesterday -- protecting the pederasts while admonishing women to birth children they can't afford to feed.
I don't know what the Bible has to say about contraception, and I don't know what their God has to say about it, but I recognize immorality when I see it.
I left them ... speechless.
It was less than satisfying.

I appreciate that you highlighted the fact. I did feign ignorance because I felt it might be effective in illuminating their own ignorance on the subject. Needless to say, they didn't have a Bible passage to educate me, perhaps because I had already mentioned the "go forth and multiply" clause with some scorn.
