Not long ago, I was teaching developmental psychology to some American visiting students, and the topic of autism came up. One asked, "Has it been definitely proved that vaccinations cause autism?" I said that, insofar as one can prove a negative, it had been virtually proved that they don't, and described some of the evidence. She thanked me and said that she had known little about autism, and had mostly heard about it through Jenny McCarthy.

I remember the time that this debate came up on the Health Forum on DU2, and one poster said that Jenny McCarthy MUST be right, or why would people have given her TWO book contracts!
