I can say there wasn’t a bright light and a soft warm fuzzy feeling of everything will be okay!

2. I died at 2 years old for less than a minute.

Apr 2019

Despite the young age I have a few vivid memories of it - the green halls, the doctor grabbing me, a young nurse.... I also have a crystal clear memory of looking at myself and the scene from the upper corner of the room and being soooo contented....

It was due to anaphylactic shock from nuts in a fruitcake.

5. Do "heroic dose" hallucinations count?
Thu Apr 11, 2019, 06:42 PM
Apr 2019

I've had out of body experiences on the "other side" while under the influence of various hallucinogenic substances; I dare say every bit as visceral and influential as a traditional near death experience. The fundamental hallucination involves the dissolution of ego; the death of ones soul. The "heroic dose" experience is a near death expierience. Not only in the dissolution of self into the cosmic aether, but by ingesting mass amounts of hallucinogenic substances, you are literally poisoning your body. The things I've come to understand in this state defy the brevity of this post, but are the nearest thing I have to "religious" or "spiritual" in my life.

Long story short, because of my medicinal application of "heroic doses" over the years, along with a robust seekers education, I no longer fear death or infinity. I wonder if a traditional "near death" experience could even add more depth to these experiences?

6. I put my hand through a window accidentally when i was in 5th grade.

Apr 2019

I severed my main artery and the wrist. My parents weren't home so I made it to my neighbors, rang the bell, abd passed out at the door step. We didnt have a formal rescue squad yet some heighbors (husband and wife) applied a tourniquet, wrapped my arm in bath towels and rushed me to the hisiptal about 30 minutes away. I nearly bled to death by the time we arrived. I recall being very cold (shivering) initially the i started to lose vision and couls judt see solid gray. I guess i calmy asked my neighbor who was holding me in her lsp if I was going to die and she said " I don't know honey, I don't know". The cold turned to a feeling of warmth and a feeling of calm. I was now seeing a bight white. I have a cague nemory of heing wheeled into the emergency and voming to during the surgery as they stabilizes me.

I did not sleep for eight days. I fell asleep. I went down a tunnel towards a bright light. When I arrived I was greeted by four bright, shining entities. I was overwhelmed. “It’s you I said, feeling my husband. . I called him Gabriel, Gabriel. When I came to there were a couple nurses worried about me but I was fine.

8. Stream fishing, alone.
Thu Apr 11, 2019, 07:13 PM
Apr 2019

I was wading and fly fishing in a stream I had not previously waded. The stream was about 20 feet wide and the depth about 2 feet. Surprise! I stepped off an underwater rock ledge, plunged into a hole about 8 feet deep and hit bottom standing upright. In a panic, I let go of my fly rod and tried to get out of my chest waders, but couldn't. Couldn't get out of them and couldn't swim with them on.

I knew that I would drown in that hole. Then, images flashed through my brain of my life beginning as a child and continuing to the point where I was in that hole, under water. At the end of the "slideshow" I asked myself "how did it happen that I made such a stupid mistake," and the answer came to me: "you walked into it." And, I quickly asked myself, how do I get out? And the answer came to me: "turn and walk to the stream bank." And I did.

There was a tree on the bank, I sat down, removed my waders, rested against the tree, and reviewed what had happened. A panic began to come over me, but I thought of my expensive fly rod on the bottom of the hole. A calm feeling displaced the panic, I removed my shirt and trousers, dived into the hole and rescued my fly rod.

9. In 1987 I was in a severe car accident.
Thu Apr 11, 2019, 07:36 PM
Apr 2019

I was unconscious and taken to a trauma1 hospital by ambulance. Most of the time I was unconscious, however, I was aware of my surroundings. The hospital called my house and my teenage son answered the phone and was told I was in critical condition at the hospital. He, my other kids, and my mom and dad rushed down to the hospital while trying to call my husband at work. He was finally located in a meeting and came to the hospital too. I remember seeing my children and my dad, especially, coming into the cubicle in the ER. Apparently I was still unconscious at that time. Then my husband came in and everyone says I opened my eyes. He asked what happened. He was referring to the accident. I then said, "I don't know. I was talking to Jenny, and she told me it was time to wake up." Jenny was my dear cousin that I was very close to. She had passed away a couple of years prior from cancer. I would not even have remembered any of this if my husband had not told me about this later.

10. Mine was out of body, not near death. I was perfectly healthy, taking a nap.

Then I woke up to a complete and utter blackness. I wasn't scared, but curious as to where I was, what was going on. I sent my mind out of myself and looked back at me. Oh, it's my soul. I felt comfortable with what I recognized. The oval mass of energy hovering in the void, the energy gently circulating. I had a vibration, a frequency. I willed my mind back and just enjoyed floating. Soon I was being slowly pulled in one direction, I didn't know where. I had no fear.I just enjoyed floating.

Thus began my soul trip to the world of the source. It's too long to recount and by no means believable.

11. Bleeding ulcer. Dark, dark black stool. Was pumping dry.

Bleeding ulcer. Dark, dark black stool. Was pumping dry.

I remember arriving at the hospital but very little else for the next two days.

Surgery, cat scan and lots of blood but I don't remember any of it.

Woke up for a few minutes and realized I might be about to die.

Was slightly pissed off about it.

Realized that I had no control about it so stopped worrying.

Worried less than two minutes, maybe less than one.

Thought about not going back to sleep to stay alive. Went back to sleep.

One blessing was that there was no one in the room to give me any advice.

I had an ongoing delusion that had a complicated, developing story line during that time.

They gave me Demerol before going into pre-op. I felt a strange feeling starting in my toes. When it got to my chest, I was breathing normally but not getting enough oxygen. I shouted for help and a nurse came in. I told what was going on and the next thing I knew was there was a doctor and at least 4 nurses. My heart stopped and I went out. A few minutes later I woke up. There were no bright lights, my mother wasn't waiting for me and there weren't any angels. Just nothing.

face it, when we do die, that's it. No "Heaven," no "Hell," nothing.
