I forgot about the storm. Thanks 2na. I hope you’re snug as a bug up in your neck of the woods!

Our high today was -5F, coldest day this winter so far. Should warm up come Monday. I'm good as long as the power stays on! There's a church about 100ft away, they have a generator, I noticed last time the power went out. Our system is a boiler in each building and we all have heat pumps that are paid for in the rent and then baseboard heat that I pay for separately. Not expensive, thankfully.

I finally got my new bed, my body feels so much better, except for the parts with tendinitis. ICE went blasting through town last Thursday, sirens blaring, headed for the border. I'm stocked up on groceries and staying inside, I still have plenty of unpacking to do yet. I've only been in this place since early last month, made the top of the waiting list five days after I got into the last place. So I am finally unpacking after having been all packed since April.

I am horrified by what's happening but I know that if I was anywhere near any of the violence, I'd probably get shot... I'll stay home for the time being.

How are you and yours doing?

It’s quite cold today however. SNOTEL says we’ve got good snowpack in the mountains but who knows. We should be getting pounded with snow now and there’s zero accumulation in the valley. It’s crazy. The upside is I am able to hike and get into the hills without worrying about iced up trails.

I’ve been caretaking for my guys since thanksgiving. The child tore a tendon in his foot and has been in a boot since then. He isn’t cleared to fly a plane until that’s resolved. His father had a knee replaced December 2nd. All I can say about that is I recommend keeping your knees if at all possible! It’s a tough surgery/recovery.

I’m just waiting on spring which is pretty far off by Montana standards. Between now and then, I told the husband if ICE shows up here, I will be in the middle of it. Not having that garbage in my little blue city. Nope.

Oh! Almost forgot. We had a juvenile mountain lion in the backyard last week! Exciting.

I’m so glad you’ve landed in a good place.

Two invalids at once!

I've heard from others that it's not really winter out there. We're getting only a few inches of snow at a time, plenty of cold but no precip. We did have a lot of rain in December in between snow events.

The lake is frozen over and ski planes come and go. There's quite the small plane playground in this area as there are so many lakes to land on, hint, hint. I actually have room for a couple guests now.

It's pretty here and I am looking forward to warmer days so I can go out and explore. There are Morels here and fiddle head ferns that are a delicacy here, I'll be out foraging! I already have a guide for that!

It's getting dark, have to close the drapes, going to be really cold tonight, only got up to -5F for the high today.

Good to hear from you!

I had in Banff, Canada 30 years ago. It was so so good.

Don’t make me come back to that paradise you’ve found yourself in.

You've got a pilot now!

I need a recipe for that FF soup! I wonder if they can be shipped.

Probably not.

I need some tea or soup, it's getting downright cold. Supposed to have wind added to the mix tonight until Monday, glad I have no place to go and all my toys right here!
