Weather Watchers
Related: About this forumBoulder County, CO: Cold front blowing through presently.
We are expecting snow tonight and tomorrow and I am so achy I had to take Tramadol and go to bed. At least I got the dogs walked and the grocery shopping finished. My boys are visiting their dad in Colorado Springs so I have the house to myself. I'm wrapping up in blankets with my doggos and watching Netflix the rest of the night. Colorado DU peeps stay warm and dry.

(16,381 posts)I'm warming up, finally. I got a chill when I was running errands and it takes me forever to recover, but I'm feeling better.

(16,381 posts)By the time I got home from errands, it was in the high 40s and I had no coat. I should know better in Colorado!

(13,871 posts)Moved there in May from SC. Has been quite an adjustment but she loves it. Great job and she can see Pikes Peak from her front porch.
I asked her if she needed any pre-Christmas gifts, and she asked for long johns and heavy flannel shirts.
I love visiting out there.

(16,381 posts)My boys texted me earlier saying they were hiking in that area. It's at a higher altitude than where I live, so it tends to be milder in the summer. The only drawback to COS is, you know, it's extremely conservative. That said, there is also a tightly knit progressive community. Your daughter will definitely need warm clothes, and right in time for Christmas!

(13,871 posts)We hiked a few hours in Garden of the Gods.
Went to Manitou Springs. I told her I now knew where all of the hippies from the 70s went. Seemed like every other store was run by a 65 year old hippie.
I also have a sister in Greeley, so I get out there 2-3 times a year. You dont know what a kick it is for a South Carolinian to see a cop providing security while I decide what kind of weed to buy

(16,381 posts)We have a great Governor. He posted something on his FB yesterday about how to plant and care for a cannabis plant bonsai houseplant.

(10,127 posts)it was a little warm, but some amazing runners. Tomorrow's weather will be a stark contrast.

(10,127 posts)was expecting to wake up to a blanket of snow and nothing but cold. did Boulder get any overnight?
Laffy Kat
(16,381 posts)We got a dusting overnight and it's still coming down. Sure feels cold.

(22,662 posts)She couldn't take the cold. I wouldn't be able to either. Even in warmer country I did myself a favor and invested in a heated mattress pad. Its the smartest thing I've done in a while. It's like sleeping on a giant heating pad. Great for achy bones. I highly recommend it. ❤

(16,381 posts)It takes me forever to warm up as it is. Last fall/winter I put a heating pad at the foot of my bed and that helped some, but it gave out. A heated mattress pad sounds perfect. I'm about to get online and look.

(531 posts)The wind is getting up now, after a day of glorious sunshine and some minor sunburn... ooops!
T-shirt and shorts today, but I'll need many layers, warm socks & boots, and my fleece-lined farmer's jacket for tomorrow and next week.
Just hoping my old car's battery can survive the overnight lows. Expected to hit 4F on Wednesday. Brrrr.
Wrap up warm, and snuggle with your pets, Colorado peeps!
