This one is at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and it's spreading like mad. It's a gusty day,
unfortunately.

(19,453 posts)3. Wow!
My brother lives about a mile NNE of NCAR. Near as I can tell the evacuation area is a couple of blocks south of him.

(16,951 posts)4. Well, the wind is blowing from the WSW at 12 gusting to 17.
Although wind direction can change. Hope your bro stays safe.
I'm 11 miles east and feel safe. I can see the smoke but still can't smell it.
