My Father died on June 02, Friday just after 7am.

I don't know how to feel. I'll just leave this here.

Dalgity, James:
Passed away peacefully at Freeport Campus of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Friday, June 2nd, 2017. James was born in Edinburgh Scotland on October 25, 1925. Beloved husband of the late Jessmina (Jessie) Dalgity (1997). Greatgrandfather of 10 great grandchildren will be especially missed by Ella, Autumn, and Bennett. He was a long time resident of Niagara Falls where he and Jessie spent many wonderful days at their trailer. James and Jessie settled in Kitchener from Edinburgh Scotland leaving behind family and friends only to make new ones and enjoy Canada as their new home. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva Network, www.cfopn.org would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home). Arrangements entrusted to Henry Walser Funeral Home, Kitchener 519-749-8467.
Visit www.henrywalser.com for James's memorial.

during this difficult and sad time

for so many years you have been a sympathetic listener and a shoulder to cry on, offering kind, gentle, and soothing words, providing comfort for the brokenhearted with an unconditional love and sincere desire to help. i offer all of that back to you dear friend.

my heart goes out to you.

in the days and weeks and months to come, know that you are not alone and we are all here for you

has touched me deeply.
I won't lie, today has been good and bad. Good for the happy memories and bad for so many other reasons.
I'm still not able to process this whole thing. It's funny, I find it easy to comfort others. I find it without any problem at all to offer my time and energy if someone is in need. For me, it's who I am and what I'm able to do.
What I have a really hard time with is opening up, accepting any help at all and telling people what I need.
I overheard my husband talking to a friend the other day. The friend obviously asked him how I was doing and he told them my Dad had passed away. Then he said this ... I think she's ok, she's been more quiet than usual and I cannot get her to talk about it.
Hah, that's me in a nutshell. He also said it's hard knowing what to do for her when she won't let me in.
I promise, I'll try harder to unlock the feelings vault and let him in. I know it's not healthy locking it all up inside of me. I know it's unhealthy to pretend I'm fine. I also know the danger to a relationship when one partner shuts down ... So I'll try harder, I promise.

Thanks to you my friend for taking the time to console and reach out. It's greatly appreciated.
