Bereavement
Related: About this forumI just found out my Daddy passed away at 2300.
I was asked to write his obituary. I hope I can do him justice. Thankfully, he didnt suffer many days and if anyone deserves to be in heaven, he does. Of, course I have been fighting tears every day since he became so sick as I am now. Thankfully he was only in Hospice Care for nine days. But now he's gone. As inevitable as death is there will never be anything that prepares you for that day.
Thank you everyone for the loving support you offered me on my End of Life Issues (Group) post. You comforted me and I will never forget it.

(11,005 posts)My dad passed away eight years ago this month, and a day doesn't go by that I don't think about him and miss him like crazy.
I truly feel for you. Hold on to the love you shared. It will get you through this. The one wonderful thing I learned through death is that the love never dies. It is always with us.

It is hard work, physically as well as emotionally & psychologically.

Wishing that you somehow find moments of peace in the process.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
