Bereavement
Related: About this forumMy uncle died this evening.
I don't know why I'm posting this except that he was a truly good man and the last of my grandmother's eight children. He lived a good and long life and I will miss him.

(5,822 posts)Having special memories of special people has always been how I have dealt with loss. Knowing he was a truly good man is a beautiful start. You certainly loved him enough to let us know about him. Thank you

(13,500 posts)I don't know why I'm crying. I am usually very pragmatic about death. He called me LoLo.

(13,500 posts)He had a very quiet strength. Never raised his voice in anger but went through life quietly getting things done. One day I hope to be just like him.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
