You will wonder what the hell this has to do with "Loners group", but I think you'll see.

I play an online MMORPG game, by myself. I'm not going to name it, so I don't get harassed by the idiots of the world. Long story short, someone called me a "douche" in the game. I don't think I deserved being called that name. I cried real tears in real life. No one has ever called me that nasty name in my entire life. Yes, I'm overly sensitive. Yes, I need to grow a rhinoceros hide.

Yes, I know in the grand scheme of things, being called a douche is nothing. Absolutely nothing. However, can't we all be kinder to each other ? That includes me too. Today just reminded me, once again, to be KIND, as much as humanly possible.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]"...can't we all be kinder to each other?"

Agree completely. So many stingy, nasty, and just plain mean people in the world today. What ever happened to the Golden Rule?

My mother used to say, "Be kind to your enemies; it confuses the hell out of them." Not sure if it's a quote from someone else or she made it up, but I always liked it.

Better yet, sometimes kindness even changes nasty people for the better somewhere down the road. I've seen it happen, not all at once, but over time.

Hang in there.

Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies.

It's those kinds of jerks who have the hide (and soul) of a rhinoceros.

(I have often let a stranger's words drive me to tears.)

They just don't know what they are missing by not having you as a friend.
I know it's hard to do but you have to let it roll like water off a duck's back.

In the fact, people will say things online they would never say face to face. It's not much. Mean is mean.

It's also possible, though I don't know the situation, it wasn't said with the malice that came across. Maybe it was said with a laugh and a smile like someone caught by a friend. (Hard to try to explain what I mean hear without being able to put a voice to it.)

Regardless, I am sorry you were so hurt. Kindness costs nothing. It would be a much better world if we all strived to be kinder.

(Aside- spell check for both my phone and DU said strived isn't a word. Wth?)

I do think the word was meant to wound, instead of to tease. This person did not know me, at all. One day words like that won't affect me so much, a work in progress.

Thanks.
