State Capitol could get a security wall
PIERRE | Just as President-elect Donald Trump hopes to build a wall around America's southern border, so too do South Dakota officials want to build a security wall around the state Capitol building.
The commission that oversees the Capitol complex gave approval Tuesday to the concept to improve security at the state's center of government.
A wall with a stone or concrete base would be installed around the north side between the semi-circular parking area and the four triangles of lawn.
The new barrier would replace the chest-high hedge now in place.
