Check out the Dalai Lama's tweet!

Realise my dream—that the 200 nations of the world be governed by women. 6. Is that what men are afraid of?

That women will manage to govern effectively with love and compassion. Scary stuff for the macho and warrior mindset.

10. That's what I say! Men have generally been in charge for millennia. How did that work out?

12. I've been saying that for a very long time.

It's time to give women a chance to run things.

I'm not religious but I've often said that if I were going to call myself anything, it would be a buddhist.

15. As long as she''s attractive, right?

This is just from last year:

https://www-independent-co-uk.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/www.independent.co.uk/life-style/women/dalai-lama-successor-female-attractive-quotes-age-a8978856.html?amp_js_v=a3&_gsa=1&&usqp=mq331AQFKAGwASA%3D#aoh=15837212188995&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&_tf=From%20%251%24s&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.independent.co.uk%2Flife-style%2Fwomen%2Fdalai-lama-successor-female-attractive-quotes-age-a8978856.html

The Dalai Lama apologized, but so did Phillip Agnew for ten year old tweets about a woman's looks and people are having none of it.

I also remember the Dalai Lama saying the greatest career a woman can have is being a mother. So just don't count me in as being a fan.

It was just his quote from last year that a woman leader would need to be attractive.

20. Because I can't imagine the Dalai Lama saying anything like that.

It just doesn't jive at all with who he is.

21. Yes it does.

Here is the original 2015 story, and he repeated it in 2019, then tried to backtrack.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/dalai-lama-says-female-successor-must-be-very-very-attractive-otherwise-she-is-not-much-use-10513609.html

It was discussed at DU, too.
