it may even, at times, be a way of trying to be friendly.
for-ex: often on hopping a cab --
there's a South Asian cab driver, who looks very much like me,
asking me bluntly personal questions.
obviously not racist; but still, majorly annoying.
being blessed with an abrasive personality,
honed by a couple of years behind the wheel of a cab, myself,
i tell 'em i don't discuss my personal affairs with strangers.
which puts 'em in a sulk & gives me peace for the rest of the ride.
and, a number of us Asian migrants, mainly from older generations,
have a tendency to racially stereotype other ethnic groups,
including other Asian-Americans.
so, thumbs up to the girl dragon with the tattoos, for saying it out loud.
( i'm kidding on the 'dragon' bit - just the obligatory "Lisbeth Salander" ref..
