Tokyo Skytree, the world's tallest broadcast tower, officially opens

Rising 2080 feet above the Tokyo cityscape, the Tokyo Skytree, the world's tallest broadcast tower, was officially opened to the public on May 22, 2012.

Tokyo has some of the most stringent, perhaps the most stringent, seismic resistance regulations in its building code of any place in the world. Saying that, I wouldn't want to be on the observation deck if a large earthquake struck. I was on the observation deck of Tokyo Tower when a moderate earthquake occurred, and it was kind of freaky.

Anyway, here is a picture of Tokyo Skytree that was taken while it was still under construction. It looks really close, but it's about a mile away.

why don't they throw the poor guy's body part back into the ocean & give themselves a break,
from having their country turned into a disaster movie every few years.
