(10,745 posts)Still, though, I'm not seeing a lot of complacency amongst our fellow Democrats. In fact, I'm seeing lots of the opposite......

(4,551 posts)And they claim that Romney's comments about entitlements/47% are going to motivate the base to come out and vote for him.
A possibility, or just bluster?

(15,424 posts)he is guilty of simply saying what the party thinks, something that he and Ryan have been guilty of a lot now.
It hit home with the twits he was speaking to at the time, and hits home with a lot of the rabid buckeheaded Rs I talk to personally.
Sure, it gives a "sugar high" to the people who have deranged hatred of President Obama, but these people were coming out to vote and SAVE OUR FREEDOM anyways.
This is a well worn R spin. In their minds, because they are all geeked up when they vote, it counts twice.

(26,060 posts)are the same people who thought Duncan Hunter would be President, that Newt would win the primaries, that Palin was the best thing sinced sliced bread. They think they know a lot about politics but are the most brain dead morons when it comes to the American people. If they love it, you can be sure 80% of the people think it sucks. They're no-nothings.

(4,667 posts)But this will, I think, be more than offset by the number of moderate pubs who have been turned off by his remarks. Anecdotal evidence suggests that these people are quite numerous.
AverageJoe90
(10,745 posts)So many moderate Republicans are being turned off by Romney, I do sometimes wonder why he has any chance at winning fairly, period. Of course, there is the matter of many moderates still jumping on the bandwagon, as it were, so this ain't over yet.

(33,497 posts)Obama really surged in Colorado with a net gain of six points. The Q-poll of VA is just the latest showing the president with the advantage there.
Overall very nice.

(24,689 posts)These numbers are great especially considering they are pre Romneyinsultspoorpeoplegate.

(4,551 posts)I would have thought that Obama would be farther ahead in Colorado than Virginia.
Virginia didn't even vote Democratic until 2008 and now it's more for Obama than Colorado?
Hmm.
Anyway, the folks on the right-wing websites are claiming Romney is beating Obama in all these states, so hopefully this will help de-rail that narrative.

(25,415 posts)I never would have figured that.
Romney is definitely behind in almost every swing state except North Carolina and that is very close.

(1,027 posts)Poll surveys appear on caller ID the same way telemarketers do.
People like me do show up on (or before with early voting) election day.
alcibiades_mystery
(36,437 posts)9 points, 7 points, 4 points, all with Obama at 50% or more. It's pretty clear that Obama is winning Virginia as of now, which is certainly welcome news.

(332 posts)So much for Mitt having the state in his column huh? hehehehe
I just don't fell any real support for Mitt here, the signs and ads are mainly about the Senate and House races, along with alot of Obama ads on tv.
Liberal_Stalwart71
(20,450 posts)in Virginia, so very happy to see these numbers. However, there's still more work to do on behalf of Kaine and Powell. I see Kaine ads now that I wasn't seeing before. Remember DC, MD, and some parts of WVa get to see these political ads. I'm sick of them but I know that it's necessary.

(4,551 posts)It's the same thread that shows Baldwin has moved up to a Tie with Thompson in Wisconsin.

(22,000 posts)But we still have 6 weeks. Nice numbers for Virginia and Wisconsin.
