1. The angry misguided for the most part white voters that feel like the government has screwed them over, so government or establishment is the problem. Bernie is the best antidote to this type of misdirected anger, for he serves to enlighten them as to who the real culprits behind their misery are, the corruption of government by Wall Street and the string pulling plutocrats. This is why Bernie has generally stacked up better against Trump than Hillary.

2. I believe Hillary has now come to realize this and knowing that she has no chance of capturing them as they're firmly anti-establishment, is going after the second pillar of Trump supporters, the racists, xenophobes and "American Exceptionalist" believers, by talking shit about leveling sanctions against Iran the day after President Obama's major diplomatic victory.

Thanks for the thread, WillyT.

Sun Jan 17, 2016, 04:56 AM

Hillary also knows the Democratic grassroots plus most Independents are to the left of the Democratic Establishment.

I believe that Hillary believes that desperate times call for desperate measures in her quest for the White House, so she's willing to send Chelsea out to lie on her behalf, trash talk the Iranians the day after President Obama gets a great diplomatic victory.

Hillary has trashed Medicare for all, just because Bernie is proposing it.

With the exception of the gun issue and that's marginal because of her own wild swings, Hillary is tracking hard right.

Hillary knows that Bernie is kicking tail with the Independents and that Independents make up the largest segment of the electorate, she needs a slice of that pie so she's going for the right wing side of it.

I believe Bernie's ad about the "two visions of the Democratic Party" really struck a nerve, Hillary knows that she doesn't have the high moral ground to straight run for the primary nomination as a Democrat.

I do believe with Hillary it has always been more a brand than a heartfelt ideology anyway.

That's what happens when a politician continually changes positions on major issues. I don't think she really has a "core" she can go to. Bernie has been consistent over the years-he doesn't need to justify changed positions on the issues or do the political dance to get votes.

Maybe all that technocratic focus group algorythm stuff has painted her into that corner now. I mean, by those metrics and in a very "by the numbers" way, they are going full-tilt center-right as a relexive way of opposing her challenger - And: having fully bought the notion made by the clueless pundits and talking heads that the US is a center-right nation.

It's what I would call this as not a freak crash, but a controlled flight into terrain: Fat, dumb and happy till the lights go out.

she is certain to get a large swath of those voters, even without her neocon credentials. She could, in theory, win the Democratic primary with Republican votes- were it not for the fact that too many Republicans are fed up, too, and many are looking at Bernie. It may well be a wild ride. Hard to say yet.
