K&R if you're worried that we're getting cocky more than six weeks out

Yes, Romney's campaign has turned into one massive clusterfuck. But I'm aware of the voter-suppression laws, I know what H.L. Mencken said about American stupidity, and, most of all, I remember 2000.

We're doing quite well. But never underestimate the lengths to which the Republicans will go to get power, remain relentless on Romney, and make damn sure you and everyone you know with an actual IQ casts a vote for Obama and the Dems on November 6.

End of rant.

I believe there are times where DU lets off a lot of steam and enjoys a moment or two while keeping both eyes peeled for danger.

If any one is working for the campaign directly, the positive energy here can only help them spread the message as they GOTV.

At least, that's how I look at it.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]I'll be worried until the election results are certified that President Obama has won a 2nd term.

My two greatest concerns are rethug voter suppression/election fraud and Democratic complacency.

We must have an overwhelming, tamper-proof, tidal wave victory!

I didn't say "elected" or "win" a second term, which he was not. Certainly I'm not giving in to despair, but we must not become complacent.

You see, we had underestimated KKKarl Rove's determination to win by any means possible. Just ask repuke operative Mike Connell, a techno whiz whom Rove hired to manipulate the numbers in dubya's favor in Ohio in 2004.

Ooops--too late. Connell died in a small airplane crash before he had a chance to testify. Funny how that can happen.

Most people have come to see what happened to us and Iraq for what is, a bunch of homicidal LIES that killed our soldiers and the Iraqis, but there are still and will always be those who will not admit the truth about what happen, because it somehow pleases them or proves something that they wish to assert. These are the hard-core hate-filled "blind". This is the Tea Party. Never under-estimate what they, and those who use them as agents of the will of others, will do.

Yes - I'm worried... This election shouldn't even be CLOSE, and yet Romney is hanging around for some reason, and is even ahead in Rasmussen... Tied in Gallup, too...

In a country where George W Bush was elected not once, but TWICE?? Yeah, there's reason to be worried........

Of course, with Rasmussen, one must always take it with a grain of salt.

The only national poll to show anything other then an Obama lead is Gallup and that is tied. It also has a 7 day rolling average which makes the poll show changes much slower. Romney is ahead in no national polls and behind in the majority of state polls. In Ohio, Virginia and Florida he is behind. He has most likely lost PA and Michigan for good. Wisconsin has started to swing back to Obama. Romney's campaign is also a mess with infighting, Repubs running away from him and it has no central theme other then Obama is bad.

But no, I won't be cocky. Polls are not going to mean much if everyone who wants Obama to win just stay home. And the Senate is extremely important as well.

I swear every time we have good news it's like 3-2-1 WET BLANKET ATTACK! Seriously! ENTHUSIASM AND CONFIDENCE IS A GOOD THING. Helps the Big Mo. More and more people think the President WILL be re-elected and that is half the battle right there.

Romney has been mismanaged, big time. These are gifts. Enjoy them.

However, our opposition is angry and mobilized. Their efforts to reduce Dem turnout (the voter id laws) are worrisome.

Speak peace when you encounter folks from the other side. Sometimes a gentle approach creates conversion, or at least disillusionment. There are a lot of scared, angry, genuinely unhappy people out there who need help, and they are clinging to any sort of change from Obama to be a potential upgrade. They misattribute the symptom to Obama, when the cause was something else entirely.

I don't know how to say what I want to say here, but bathe your approach in positive energy. It is a benefit that our opponents cannot offer. Smile, offer the positives.
