Calling Bernie a socialist didn't work. He wants MEDICARE for all and EVERYBODY to have a government insurance policy!
Is McCaskill really a D?

This story appears in the October 19, 2015 issue of Forbes.

The Mystery Of Hillary's Missing Millions

Dan Alexander SEP 29, 2015 @ 08:30 AM

Since Bill and Hillary Clinton left the White House in 2001, they have earned more than $230 million. But in federal filings the Clintons claim they are worth somewhere between $11 million and $53 million. After layering years of disclosures on top of annual tax returns, Forbes estimates their combined net worth at $45 million. Where did all of the money go? No one seems to know, and the Clintons aren’t offering any answers.

From 2001 to 2014 the power couple spent $95 million on taxes. Hillary’s 2008 presidential run cost her $13 million. Their two homes cost a combined $5 million, and the Clintons have given away $22 million to charity. All of this is according to FEC filings, property records and years of tax returns. Add it up and you get $135 million. If the Clintons made $230 million, spent $135 million and have just $45 million left over, what happened to the other $50 million?

“That’s kind of strange,” says Joe Biden’s accountant, Walter Deyhle. “You have to report all of your assets. You have to report assets that are owned by your spouse.”

It seems unlikely that the Clintons could have spent all of it. Over 14 years $50 million averages out to $3.6 million in extra expenses per year, or $9,800 per day.

Hillary comes across as bossy and disingenuous.

Hillary has a trust problem. She sounds dishonest. She would do well to present a healthcare plan that covers all Americans and is more affordable than Obamacare.

She is coming across as very negative, a dream-squelcher. Her tone is acidic. Even her voice sounds harsh and dry.

Hillary is not going to win in the general election. Bernie can.

As for Communism. Guess what country is Communist? China.

It still calls itself Communist.

And guess where half the stuff we import that has American brand names on it and is produced by American-owned companies is made? China.

China is one of the many socialist countries to which the 1% has shipped our jobs.

So don't be amazed that Americans have lost their wariness of socialism. Even Communism.

We buy stuff made in Communist and socialist nations all the time.

This argument will no longer work on Americans.

Bring our jobs back and help us prove that capitalism, the system we supposedly have, means better products and services and wages and lifestyle than socialism and Communism.

1%ers, put your money and the jobs where your mouths are.

Hillary and Chelsea need to get together and fire the Nanny then Hillary should stand in as her rightful place as grandmother and call this another failed attempt to fulfill her dream of 23 years.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I believe that quote is attributable to you.

"IF you were an editor would you print this story if you didn't know more? "

You put a lot more trust in the corporate media than I do. Yes, I believe they would print it if it were Rove on the other end of the line.

What dead horse is being beaten? The one where unnamed quotes are attributed to Clinton as if she said it? For instance: "Now that Hillary calls Bernie a commie"

Once again, please back up your claim.

Sure the words may not have directly come from her mouth, but are you really going to stand there and dig into OS for misquoting someone instead of acknowledging the disingenuous smears coming from Hillary's campaign? Hillary is responsible for what her campaign does you know.

But let's ignore that because OS said that Hillary said it. Let's dig into strawman details.

Get a grip and step up, do YOU think Bernie is a communist? Do you think this shit is called for and becoming of our Democratic party?

I truly don't get your hostility. Please show where I have referenced Sanders as a communist. Thanks.

"But let's ignore that because OS said that Hillary said it. Let's dig into straw man details."

Calling out someone for being completely false isn't a straw man. Specially when they START their whole point with it.

"Get a grip and step up, do YOU think Bernie is a communist?"

You can't be serious.

Man, when you can't answer a question, just take it as literally as possible right?

I didn't ever say that you referred to Bernie as a communist. Never did. So the question still stands, "Do YOU think Bernie is a communist?"

Just because you never mentioned our planet earth doesn't mean I can't ask if you think it's round or not.

And yeah, it's a straw man when instead of absorbing and analyzing OS's message, you nit picked at how he said it. That's avoiding the point and picking out a strawman instead.

And regarding "Get a grip and step up?"

Yeah, I'm serious. Step up, defend the candidate instead of overanalyzing how people talk about her. It's not how we say it, it's WHAT we're saying. So do you have a response to any of that?

Do you think Bernie is a communist? Do you think it's correct or becoming of our Democratic party to be that way? <Easy questions.

Fine, I'm sure that you're being careful on the first question. These are hard times on DU and there are alert stalkers about. I won't ask you again whether or not you believe Bernie is a communist... Though it shouldn't be a question you'd want to avoid. Seems like an easy answer to me.

Anyways, the second most important question stands. And I hope you'll answer it.

"Do you think this kind of stuff is correct or becoming of our Democratic party?"

34. Oh noes! My Swiss bank got busted! Where can I hide my millions?
Fri Jan 22, 2016, 05:18 PM
Jan 2016

Now, the Slate article is old (2009), but we're looking at what the Clintons did with their millions since 2001.
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/explainer/2009/02

For years, Swiss banks have been famous for their secrecy. Where should you go to hide your money now?
Andorra, Liechtenstein, or Monaco. * Those are the three jurisdictions listed as "uncooperative tax havens" by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, an international group that tracks financial transparency. In other words, these are the countries whose banks are least likely to give out information about their clients, even if they're involved in major crimes or terrorism. Dubai and Singapore have high levels of bank secrecy, too. Unlike, say, the United States, those countries allow you to set up accounts that hide the names of the real owners, using trustees as go-betweens.

Less secret but still shady are the 35 jurisdictions that are, according to the OECD, "committed to improving transparency" but that still have a long way to go—including the Bahamas, Belize, Cyprus, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, Netherlands Antilles, Panama, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These are "tax havens" where you can stash your money to avoid paying U.S. taxes but can't keep your identity a secret. (In other words, not the best place to hide your blood money.)
/monaco_is_the_new_switzerland.html

That was the first crack in Swiss bank secrecy, back in 2009; but the secrecy continued into at least 2014 for 40 Swiss banks, and continued after that for another 260 Swiss banks.
Considering we are dealing with 2 Ivy trained lawyers (even though yes, Hillary did fail to pass the DC bar exam), and that Bill is the gold standard, go-to-guy when it comes to fine-parsing what the meaning of "is" is, I'm sure that if there is a place to hide millions, he's well aware of it.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/01/22/swiss-banking-secrecy/4390231/

DAVOS, Switzerland — The secret Swiss bank account is no longer what is used to be.

For years the accounts were the basis of plots both real and imagined in which people hid cash to avoid the taxman or the police if the gains were from crime.

But prior to a midnight New Year's Eve deadline, many of the Swiss banks agreed to divulge to the U.S. government which Americans have accounts here to avoid prosecution on charges of helping them evade taxes.

As many as 40 of Switzerland's approximately 300 banks are reported to have said publicly that they would voluntarily hand over closely guarded client information to the Department of Justice in return for prosecutorial immunity.

But, as the OP points out candidates to have to report not only their own assets, but those of their spouses. So where indeed did all those millions disappear to? Tis a puzzlement. They certainly didn't go to paying off Hillary campaign debts from 2008 - Bill badgered others into paying those off.
