Lawyer for Walter Scott Family Switches Sides to Endorse Bernie Sanders
The lawyer for the family of Walter L. Scott, who was fatally shot by a police officer in South Carolina, is withdrawing his support from Hillary Clinton and endorsing Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont on Monday afternoon. The lawyer, State Representative Justin T. Bamberg of South Carolina, said he is switching sides because he believes Mrs. Clinton embodies establishment politics, while Mr. Sanders offers a bolder platform that will improve the lives of people in the South and across the country.
....
Hillary Clinton is more a representation of the status quo when I think about politics or about what it means to be a Democrat, said Mr. Bamberg, who initially endorsed Mrs. Clinton in December. Bernie Sanders on the other hand is bold. He doesnt think like everyone else. He is not afraid to call things as they are.
Mr. Bamberg said he eventually decided to support Mr. Sanders after the two men spoke for 20 minutes last week on Martin Luther Kings Birthday about the shooting death of Mr. Scott. They also discussed Mr. Sanderss plans for criminal justice reform, for creating new policies for police departments and about the struggles of working-class people. What I got from him was not a presidential candidate talking to a state representative, or an old white man talking to a young black guy, Mr. Bamberg said. What I got from him was a man talking to a man about things that they are passionate about, and that was the tipping point for me.
And so it begins...

(22,308 posts)The company that was supposed to have the firewall up didn't. The Sanders campaign did not break a firewall.
Sad how dishonesty seems to be the first thing one side goes to in order to try and make a point. Also sad that it has nothing to do with someone who had endorsed Hillary withdrawing that endorsement and now supporting Bernie.
Just sad, on so many levels.

Although the Sanders people claimed they were only in the database for "a few minutes" to see "how bad the exposure was", in fact they had FOUR people snooping around for about 4-1/2 hours. And although they claimed they "never downloaded anything", in fact they downloaded and saved targeted Clinton data from all four of the early states as well as a number of other states.
The logs have been posted here and on the internet. Check them out. If you do so objectively you'll be amazed at what Uretsky, "csmith_bernie", "csanchez_mernie", "anikseresht", and "rdrapkinNH" actually accessed on the DNC and Hillary databases.

George II
(67,782 posts)....you've been asked a dozen times what is "anti-Semitic" about what you claim people said. You have yet to answer, most likely because you can't. Sadly you make up your "dog whistles" as you go along to suit the discussion.

George II
(67,782 posts)....NEVER accused Sanders of being funded by Israel. NEVER!
If you want to spell it out, be my guest, but make sure you include the ACTUAL statement that you just referred to AND the context in which it was stated. And if it doesn't explicitly say "Sanders is funded by Israel", please explain how you came to that conclusion.
You've done this countless times, and you've been asked each and every time what specifically was said about Sanders being "funded by Israel", and you've failed to do so each and every time.
So, now you've offered, finally, let's see you "spell it out"! But be clear about that spelling, please.

George II
(67,782 posts)The fact is it NEVER was said. So, if it really WAS said, why are you unable to present it here? I can answer that - it would belie your false accusations. And yet you still refuse to explain how you arrived at that bogus conclusion.

(11,366 posts)They're arguing above about how "awful" it was that Bernie's team viewed Clinton's "proprietary" information after NGP VAN dropped the security ball, but don't seem a bit concerned that Clinton's negligence may have allowed hackers to view NATIONAL SECURITY SECRETS.
The onus for the Sanders/Clinton data leak is on NGP VAN for failure to secure the info and the DNC for hiring them. The onus for any security breach of Clinton's computer is on her and the company she hired to service it.
Ugh.

(11,812 posts)The results appear to be artificial, or 'arti-factual', as some people might say. As we've done our analysis, it just doesn't hold up," said Ludwig.
Speaking to the oft-cited fallacy being forwarded in the media that both candidates were equally unknown entities, who each did little or no campaigning, Ludwig re-iterated what Rawl has been saying in his recent media appearances. "There is an inherent presumption that these were equivalent campaigns. We campaigned, the other guy just simply didn't."
Rawl has said he'd raised hundreds of thousands of dollars during the campaign, appeared at some 80 campaign events all across the state since March 1st, and had hundreds of campaign volunteers. By way of contrast, Greene didn't have a campaign website, had no volunteers, no campaign literature, and doesn't even own a computer or a cell phone.
I pointed Ludwig to a number of academic findings in regard to the state's Direct Recording Electronic (DRE, usually touch-screen) voting systems which he hadn't yet known of, and discussed my concerns about the sensitive memory cards used in those systems for both programming the ballot and recording votes.
As manipulation of the memory cards are one of the direct ways to potentially manipulate the machines, I've been very troubled by reports received by the campaign that some pollworkers were said to have been repeatedly accessing and swapping out memory cards throughout Election Day. Ludwig says that the cards have yet to be examined or quarantined. I strongly advised, as I have since first reporting this story, that someone get a court order for that immediately.

Before any votes are cast, presidential candidates compete for the support of influential members of their party, especially elected officials like U.S. representatives, senators and governors. During the period known as the invisible primary, these party elites seek to coalesce around the candidates they find most acceptable as their partys nominee. Over the past few decades, when these elites have reached a consensus on the best candidate, rank-and-file voters have usually followed.
Of course, not all endorsements are equally valuable. We use a simple weighting system: 10 points for governors, 5 points for U.S. senators and 1 point for U.S. representatives (there are roughly five times as many representatives as senators and 10 times as many representatives as governors).
These are the endorsements that will matter
