Was just listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers front man Anthony Kiedis (AKA Antwan The Swan) on KLOS's Jonesy's Jukebox show. He announced that the RHCP are playing a benefit for Sanders at the Ace Hotel here in L.A. next Friday. Kiedis opined that unlike the other candidates running for president, Sanders is; " A human being who cares about other human beings". He then explained that when the RHCP offered to pay the rent on the venue as a contribution, Sanders TURNED THEM DOWN. He said Sanders thanked them graciously for the offer, but said he couldn't take that much money from them, as he didn't want to be beholden to anyone.....Anthony was clearly blown away, and said "THAT'S how Bernie Sanders rolls".....

(5,122 posts)Exactly.
Too bad that's why he stands out. It should be said about all elected officials but we all know that story.

(3,190 posts)To serve the public...he will do what he can to improve the lives of the public, especially those who need it most.
The billionaires will do just fine on their own without government assistance, which is exactly what they have received over the last few decades at the expense of the rest of us.
