The issue will be driven home that she makes
terrible decisions. Therefore her judgement
cannot be trusted.
It hit the front page in my lousy paper as well
as the editorials. Yes, I know it is a conservative paper,
but it is the major paper in the state.
I wished it only appeared on page18, but no
such luck.

(11,101 posts)I don't think she intended to do wrong and I don't think she broke any laws. Still, the nature of the job would suggest that the lack of security for a private server would have doomed that plan from the start.

the marking does not dictate the content

(7,290 posts)I don't get why this is so hard to understand.
It's very telling to me that Hillary repeatedly says that she never sent or received anything that was marked as classified.

(12,655 posts)if it wasn't classified she could just say i never sent anything classified. she knows that the classified designation exists whether or not it is marked. but she is hoping the voters are too stupid to see through her parsing. i think she is gonna be disappointed.
SickOfTheOnePct
(7,290 posts)I'm not so sure she will be disappointed.

(7,290 posts)is completely different than not being Top Secret.
Undoubtedly the emails weren't marked Top Secret, but that doesn't mean they weren't Top Secret.

(11,366 posts)What is alleged to have happened is that her staff, with clearance, saw it and typed it out in emails to send to her. You're not ALLOWED to do that.
And, top that off with the fact that her email wasn't on protected government servers, either, then you have the crime.
Yes, I know some government servers were hacked, but all of those had outward facing servers. SIPERnet and JWICS don't.

(7,290 posts)I'm dumbfounded by the notion that some people have, which is that if wasn't marked as classified, then it wasn't classified.
Classification markings don't dictate the classification of the content, the content dictates the markings.

(2,125 posts)I'm glad somebody here understands the ins and outs of secure servers. Every time I read one of your posts I feel like I have a better understanding of this issue.

(2,125 posts)National Security and immigration are the only two things republicans care about and this is not going away, no matter how she tries to spin it. It may not have been illegal (I think it was), but it was definitely handled very badly. The republicans loathe her and the Dems are split about her. With a scandal of this nature that will be going on for many more months, Hillary needs to step down.
