(12,754 posts)What a damning statement -- especially from an outfit that makes sure the system works only for the 1 percent. Apparently, they are expecting Hillary to keep that anti-worker engine chugging along.

(5,122 posts)Obviously, not "official" from Bernie's camp.
Parody or not, just the fact that no one knows shows how poignant it is.
As a Hillary supporter, you come second. She's looking out for #1 and that's not you. In fact, #2 is the 1% and you come after that.
Bernie did not make his fortune from Wall Street and he puts us at #1.
That's why his revolution is a success. It's about us.

"Clinton made $3.15 million in 2013 alone from speaking to firms like Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank and UBS, according to the list her campaign released of her speaking fees."
The Clintons' web of wealth

"The Wall Street payments were significant in that they represented a form of gratitude not only for Bill Clintons deregulation of Wall Street. That year Hillary Clinton, now a senator from New York, voted for a bankruptcy bill that made it much harder for people to qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy; the bill was backed primarily by banks and credit card issuers."

(5,122 posts)What we know is that Wall Street has been very important in the past. BUT... today, your vote is very important. After the elections are over, Wall Street will be back. You will be dirt.

Stinky tripe for sure.

(45,251 posts)Most of them assume the poster asked for one will not provide any and therefore look bad for no reason whatsoever.
If a link is provided, the poster who requested it will simply pick apart the source and/or the content.
If he or she can't pick apart the source and/or the content, he or she will scatter silently. They won't thank you or apologize for challenging you when you were right.
Meanwhile, the poster who provided the link will never get back the time spent finding and posting one or more links. Life is too short and precious.
I enjoy posting, but I don't enjoy posting games. And that is what I find most requests for links on this board to be, just a mindless posting game.
tecelote
(5,122 posts)But, kind of funny since the title of my latest reply was "Links?"
Yeah, this whole fraction thing is a distraction from the fact that we all know she is beholden.
Tactics can't hide the truth.
merrily
(45,251 posts)acknowledge it. I've apologized for my mistakes any number of times during my posting career. I've received damned few apologies--and not because I failed to provide links that proved I was right.
I am not asking insincerely. Also, I will most often go a quick google myself before even asking for a link. If I find something, I don't ask at all. Then again, as I said, I don't enjoy posting games.
DanTex
(20,709 posts)Lower, in fact, since half of the money she earned from those speeches went to taxes, and some was contributed to charity.
Are you sure you want to go with the "owned by Wall Street" nonsense? My advice is to try and find something that's even slightly backed by facts.
Or, just you saying it's so?
DanTex
(20,709 posts)Hillary $30M, Bill $80M, joint $110M. The Wall Street money was peanuts.

tecelote
(5,122 posts)"Compared to the average American household, Hillary Clintons net worth is 459 times larger. "
That's Hillary's net worth separated from her family's (Bill).
There's your fraction! We're worth just over .005.
If my math is correct. Can you help there? If she is worth 459 times the average of us, what are we worth?
Yeah, she understand the average American.
DanTex
(20,709 posts)I get it, you can't bring yourself to accept that the fraction of her wealth that came from Wall Street is tiny.
Thing is, in the Bernie bubble, ignoring facts works great. But it's really not that big a bubble. Caveat Emptor.
So you say and I do not just accept it.
'Typical Bernie supporter expecting the truth.

(20,709 posts)remember a post from 10 minutes ago?
I've had a lot of experience with Bernie fans, but I gotta be honest, this is new!
tecelote
(5,122 posts)What fraction? It doesn't say. You say it's a fraction but what vague number are you talking about?
We know Hillary is beholden to Wall Street. How beholden is yours to prove, not mine.
Bernie's is 0. No fraction there.
DanTex
(20,709 posts)If you can't do it by hand, pull out a calculator, or just use the calculator on your computer. First type in the $3M that she earned from speeches to financial firms. (Never mind subtracting the taxes and charitable contributions, that's very advanced). Then hit the "/" key. And then type in the $110M which is the Clintons' net worth. Finally, press the "enter" key. It might have an "=" symbol.
You can do it!

(45,251 posts)Fraction, my ass. What an utterly disingenuous question. They didn't amass hundreds of millions of dollars on Bill or Hillary's government paychecks.

(45,251 posts)Money alone is not the issue, not even in the New Testament, but the love of money, aka what you are willing to do to make money, your priorities, greed, etc.
Bernie seems to be to be okay by all those standards and also very willing to pay his fair share of taxes.

(15,435 posts)be an issue. Tried the other place to post... SO CONFUSING. Hectic time for me right now. Will keep at it.
I have to say that as one who jumped on board with Bernie before he announced I'm so, so extremely happy to see what he's been able to do!
