2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThis racist snark that PoC are not liberal or not progressive or not Sanders supporters must stop!
The most recent polling by Quinnipiac shows that Sanders has an extremely favorable rating (+41 for godssake!) in the African American community and that it is slightly lower than Clinton's favorability poll number in that community only because 31% of the African American community does not know Sanders well enough yet. Among those African Americans who know him, Sanders actually has an even more favorable rating in that community than his way-better-than-Clinton's favorable rating among white voters:
SandersFavorable...............white 39%.....black 55%
Unfavorable............white 43%.....black 14%
ClintonFavorable...............white 31%.....black 73%
Unfavorable............white 66%.....black 20%
We need to stop this perpetual flow of racist snark that PoC are not liberal or not progressive or not Sanders supporters now. We are Democrats and we are better than that!

(8,648 posts)POC may, however question why this populism has only recently fomented, now that the great recession has structurally affected many whites as well. There might be some entitlement issues here.

If you are serious, here's a tip. The way to be sure some internet snark will never end is to demand it must stop right away.
Vote2016
(1,198 posts)stereotyping seems beneath the type of discussion you would expect to see on Democratic Underground?

(6,409 posts)My fellow Sanders supporters, please stop commenting how black people must wake up and realize Sanders offers them a better deal than Clinton, that the Sanders plans for economic justice will mean more to them than the Clinton promises, and how they would realize Sanders is their candidate if only they would stop being so impressed by Hillary making nicey-nice and kissy-kiss with them in public. It may be true, but people don't enjoy being told they're wrong, that they're deluding themselves, that they should let somebody else think for them, etc. It's not racist or bigoted, but it's certainly patronizing.

(11,012 posts)I certainly did not take that away from the OP. More just strongly suggesting that everyone stop trying to characterize PoC as anti-Bernie/pro-Hillary and allow them and their numbers to speak for themselves.
I did not get the impression that this was directed at any one particular group, other than those who keep defining a whole demographic (where skin color is the only defining requirement) as if that huge demographic were all of one mind, and speaking for that demographic as a spokesperson.

(11,012 posts)I'll use "demanding," but I still don't see how this OP is directed mainly at PoC. There have been a whole lot of those who are NOT PoC running the meme since Bernie got into the race.
If you can show me where the OP directed this mainly or only at PoC, I'll retract my post.
