(26,549 posts)The Air Force needs the Army to not complain too much about the F-35. So the Air Force threatens to pull the A-10 to keep the army quiet about the F-35.
That way, all the branches want the F-35!
(It doesn't help that the A-10 isn't "sexy"

(54,330 posts)Half the machinery they order up is only to keep jobs in some Congressman's district so they'll be re-elected again. There have been pieces of equipment that have come off the manufacturing line and gone straight to the bone yard.
