Just heard a political analyst say that Clinton must have some bad internal

polling. This was on my local Vermont station. The comment or is Dr. Garrison Nelson, Professor of American Governnent, Politics and Political Behavior at UVM, as well as being the most prominent political analyst in Vermont.

Dr. Nelson said that he couldn't see any other explanation for the panicked behavior of the campaign, and in particular Bill's fevered attacks on Bernie.

Professor Nelson teaches courses in American government, political leadership and political parties.

He is the author of more than 150 articles and professional papers on national politics with a major focus on the U.S. Congress and elections in Vermont and is a regular media commentator on those topics. He is the author of Pathways to the U.S. Supreme Court: From the Arena to the Monastery (Palgrave Macmillan, 2013) and co-author of The Austin-Boston Connection: Five Decades of House Democratic Leadership, 1937-1989 (Texas A&M University, 2009).

Bernie is no Obama. Obama was able to bring whites, blacks, Latinos, and Asian together. Bernie will have to become a whole new person(personality) in order to do that.

She's repeating 2008 expecting a different result. Obama, Sanders, it doesn't matter because her biggest opponant is herself.

I knew this was going to happen 6 weeks ago, and didn't believe it when I was told at first.

Most of ME, RI, and Middle/Western MA are hurting. VT is a given.

CT is having problems, but NYC keeps them afloat, but that is crumbling.

A headline towards the Financial Times along with a caller mentioned some rate or measure that heralds a coming recession. Definitely creeped Thom out.
Someone will have to flesh it out who watched Thom's show as I'm trying to remember it.

It is a sign the Clinton campaign knows it's in trouble.

For them, it may be a bit of a shock, because their internal polling in Iowa told them they were going to cruise to a +5 victory. They probably fixed their polling model and suddenly saw what was happening. Panic set in.

Tonight, the Clintons also know Bernie is going to get heavy, good quality mainstream media coverage - and that will help him in the upcoming states to tighten the polls.

The key questions would be "will it help him significantly?" "Does the momentum break down Clinton's firewall with minorities?" Like a bunch around here think, there's a good chance the answer to both those questions is yes. Bill Clinton knows it too.

It probably hasn't looked good since some time before Iowa. You don't do what her campaign has been doing if her polls reflected many of the public polls from back then.
