Over a longtime member that was banned. Some celebrate the banning by swatting the bug, others honor be showing the bug. Both sides are just childish in my opinion.

He was banned for some reason, some people used it to show support for him, others created a smashing-bug to show their support for his banning.

Long story short. I truly know no details, someone else will need to provide those.

They had the bug in their sig. Some Hillary supporters grave danced by putting the swatted bugs in their sigs. Some Bernie supporters decided to show solidarity with the banned member and protest the swatters by putting the bugs in theirs.
