might be an apt comparison:

"I wear the chain I forged in life," replied the Ghost. "I made it link by link, and yard by yard; I girded it on of my own free will, and of my own free will I wore it.... It is a ponderous chain."

Jacob Marley: It is required of every man that the spirit within him should walk abroad among his fellow men! If it goes not forth in life, it is condemned to do so after death! It is doomed to wander through the world! Oh, woe is me! And witness what it cannot share but MIGHT HAVE SHARED on Earth and turned to happiness!

What is said in reaction to his death is not as important as what is done. I hope that President Obama puts forth his nominee and forces the GOP to continue to obstruct. Principle and the Constitution are on his side.

anything could have been done about Scalia. Sandra Day O'Connor was also appointed by Reagan.
Since then, we have had a Bush gain or usurp the Whitehouse.

How a judge rules is how a judge rules. The only way we can effect that is by whom we elect to the Senate and the Whitehouse.

I would offer that he is experiencing the actions of his life as he reviews it including the pain he caused. He is experiencing every sorrow and every joy he ever was responsible for. If that is consolation then I offer it freely.

one day must be felt by us as you described but tenfold.
The same is true of love, goodness, it comes back bountifully. Ten-fold is a random amount.

I've found that either way, it's multiplication. No escaping it. This is how we learn best, by first-hand feeling..

It's what I've always (well, not always, but for a long time) thought about what happens when we die. It seems like a very good way to learn from our lives before we go on to whatever.

Thank you for sharing that!

"Racist" and "Homophobe" are subsets of "Bigot", which is a subset of "Evil". Hard to know which is the most inclusive category -- evil, asshole, or good riddance. I guess really they're all the same thing.
