I was lucky enough to very near the front, first 200 or so. Didn't realize it went that far. Simply amazing!
It took about 2 hours for every one to get inside.
Definitely worth the wait!

Clearly only commies looking for free stuff go to Sanders rallies.
Now out of Clinton mode...
I'm happy that SBS is getting the turnout he needs.
We all win when we stick together!

(40,416 posts)It is nice to see this. Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor (U of M) are liberal strongholds.
We need them, because here in rural west MI Ted Cruz is likely the choice of the majority theocrats. And give up on Grand Rapids, all but owned by the Dutch Reformed Calvanists headed by the DeVoss (AmWay) family and their evil spawn (Black Water -- remember them, yup DeVoss family, too).

Got there early, waited for over three hours outside, but was second back right in front of him.
It was pretty cold, but we all just kept strong and some took turns going to their cars to warm up. Great crowd!
Bernie was electric! I wish I knew how to upload pictures.

Did you see where the Hare Kriishnas were set up with their food and drink? That is where we were in line. So pretty close. Then got so close, could hear him without amplification.
A lot of the folks I was waiting with sat behind the stage and got to shake his hand. One woman had a sign that lit up and he signed it for her. So cool!!
Definitely one of the cooler things I've had the pleasure to witness. And I've been lucky enough to experience some pretty sweet shit in my life.
Still feeling high from it!
I really like our chances with this guy as our leader. And as he said, it is about us to make it happen!
Let's do this people!

(22,308 posts)The only analogy I have to the feeling that rally gave me was the first time I saw The Greatful Dead (many many moons ago).
What a great speaker. I love how he ad libs a little here and there. When he said he couldn't use that word anymore (Yooge) because every time he does 100,00 do that, I just about burst out laughing.
I've seen President Obama speak live and Bernie left me even more excited than he did.
What a fun President's day!
ybbor
(1,749 posts)I mentioned my Dead shows on multiple occasions today.
One of my sweet experiences was going to the Fare Thee Well shows this summer.
I loved how he spoke without notes the whole time. Or it at least appeared to be the case.
He was pretty funny, too.
Great day! Glad we got to share it!

(6,960 posts)At the Hillarian 'safe place' they are trumpeting the great turn out of supporters in Summerlin, Nevada (that is in Las Vegas).
Once again, a very narrow, curtained-off venue.
Sure enough, turns out to be a crowd of only 650 people.

I wish I could have done more. I wish I was in there right now. But my dear wife wouldn't be able to hang with standing that long. Sucks.

(39,153 posts)if that. From the looks of it, it was 99.999% white, 80% male, 75% retired. Pitiful. On the news at noon, he reiterated that Obama should hold off nominating a Supreme Court Justice because the country is just "too divided", but he would go ahead and nominate somebody because he's a Republican & could get a vote. Asshole. So I guess Democrats can't nominate anyone during an election year, but a Republican can. God, I hate Republicans. Sorry for the off-topic rant.
