Clinton 44%, Sanders 42% in Quinnipiac national poll

February 17, 2016

"Clinton, Sanders Locked In A Tie Among Democrats"...

In the Democratic race nationwide, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has 44 percent, with Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont at 42 percent, and 11 percent undecided, unchanged from February 5...

The Democratic gender gap is shrinking as women back Clinton over Sanders 47 - 41 percent while men back Sanders 44 - 40 percent. Clinton would have a good chance of winning in November, 83 percent of Democrats say, compared to 69 percent who say Sanders has a good chance.

Looking at key characteristics among Democratic voters:
93 percent say Clinton has the right kind of experience to be president, compared to 74 percent for Sanders;
87 percent say Sanders is honest and trustworthy, compared to 61 percent for Clinton;
87 percent say Clinton has strong leadership qualities, with 79 percent for Sanders;
86 percent say Sanders cares about their needs and problems, compared to 78 percent for Clinton;
82 percent say Sanders shares their values, compared to 75 percent for Clinton.

overflowing with ugly skeletons (and pseudo-skeletons like Benghazi) so for Bernie I think it comes down to whether or not people can forgive whatever surprises might turn up. (My gut feeling is that he can.)

It's the SAME message, since forever. Listen to his endorsement for a candidate in 1988, it sounds like it was recorded a couple weeks ago; except the cited statistics then are worse today.

He talks about a range of issues, but you are right that he doesn't let go of the problem we have with corporate corruption of our system of government that most of us APPLAUD him being CONSISTENT on and REMINDING us all a lot about it, when so many other politicians are being PAID by the oligarchs to avoid talking about that problem.

And that problem is at the root of so many other problems we have in our government today, that if you don't solve it, you can't really provide solutions for so many other problems we're facing when a corrupt system is being paid to not deal with them.

Sanders is light years ahead of what Obama was, at this point.

After more states vote, I think we will see Sanders taking the country by storm.

It's simply amazing what he's been able to overcome in such a short amount of time.

The support is just below the surface. A lot of the preference is still revolving around perceptions of electability and strength. So those can shift too.

Iowa and New Hampshire proved that to be true.

That's why all the Polls will be skewed

I'd almost given up on grassroots, thinking that we could never overcome Wall Street and the Super Pacs. Bernie has given me reason to believe. I really do believe that if we keep working to spread the word (so many people still don't know about him) that we can continue to turn the tide.
