Scarbourough on MSNBC questioning trump.

i just woke up to hear scarborough suggest raising retirement age on social security because people are living longer. well that's okay for you joe -- who sits on his ass with an easy job. what about the painter, the electrician, the construction worker, etc. some of these people have aches and pains and are struggling to work now -- you bastard -- you want them to work longer.

i'm sure there's lots of people on this forum who have these hard jobs.

trump's answer -- ss is in trouble because of fraud, abuse and mismanagement. yes, congress raided the fund for years. pay back the money and there won't be a problem.

also raise the cap. let the rich pay more.

Raise retirement age - how about 80? Next time you go to a Denny's or Village Inn or some similar place, see if you notice the ladies over 60 hauling plates of eggs and biscuits and bussing tables? Talk to them and you'll hear horror stories about having to take care of kids, grandkids, sick spouses, rent problems etc. And their feet and backs and necks ache. Yet work they must. So go fuck yourself with a rusty rasp Joe.

Why is this shit on MSNBC? Oh yeah - it's TV. The death of the fairness doctrine was a big step in the wrong direction. But the reality is that our mainstream media, TV and newspapers, have been deplorable in this country since forever. The ONLY reason the Republican candidates continue to lie and make up shit is because absolutely nobody is held accountable for these lies. Case in point - Herr Trumpf. TV is the main source of information for most Americans and it spews poison and propaganda relentlessly. It's not hard to understand why so many remain ignorant when subjected to this crap throughout their lives.

Trump was asked about those terrible "entitlements" like Social Security and Medicare. Social Security is an earned benefit, yet outside of a few folks like Chris Hayes who nobody watches, you never hear this term "entitlements" rejected and corrected. Trumpf said he'd fix the enormous amount of waste that exists in these programs. Poppycock to that. You want inefficiency, take a look at our private health insurance companies. Al Gore claimed that Social Security was in a "locked box". More donkey fazoo! We the United States borrowed, or charged, or whatever accounting term you wish to use, trillions from SS during Clinton's presidency to simply pay down the interest on our national debt accrued under Saint Raygun.

And when Bernie rightfully brings up the topic of war criminal Kissinger during a debate? The media crickets on that one were deafening. I understand Hillary runs in higher circles than most, but to even mention him is sickening. She should know better. And to see her seeking advice from Kissinger defended on this site is remarkable. Democratic Underground - if you know the meaning of both these words, then certainly you know that Kissinger is a shit-stain on humanity who deserves nothing but derision, opprobrium and shunning. Truthiness does seem to have a liberal bias as Colbert noted. But truth is in short supply when viewing our TV machines.

So in America, we have a bunch of people who don't think Global Warming is caused by burning fossil fuels and not a concern at all. Many of these same believe that god will fix it or come back to take us all to heaven anyhoo. No WMDs and no Iraq-Al qaeda ties, yet many Americans still believe these lies. A big chunk of Repukes think that our President is a Muslim, or foreign born or both. And today, many in America don't have a clue about Nixon and his henchman Henry. Wonder why? Cheney and Rumsfeld get to go on TV and spew their lies and criticize freely. The working class is told we have to bail out the banks or our world will collapse, all while the middle class collapses daily. Socialized medicine will flat-out put more money into the pockets of the average American, yet this is hardly mentioned. Generals who fuck up over and over again get promoted and hundreds of billions get pissed away ad infinitum. So much of this I blame on our fawning corporate media. They could tell the truth, but their corporate masters make sure that doesn't happen. Meanwhile, there are millions of Americans who tremble because ISIS will kill them in their sleep tonight. Fear sells, truth takes work and Joe Scarborough and MSNBC can go to hell!

local supermarket is an example. there's an older woman slicing deli meats who can barely walk. she has a limp. those meats are heavy.

i've spoken to people. i'm friendly and tend to ask questions -- want them to know someone cares and appreciates the hard work they do. i make a point of knowing them on a first name basis, etc.

my friend in NYC is 58. he's a paralegal -- makes $52,000 a year. he said he'll never make it to retirement age which is 67 for him. said the job is killing him. 10 years ago he was making $64,000 a year, but the traveling 1-1/2 hours each was was too much so he took a lower paying job with much less travel time. his dad drove a coca cola truck and retired at 62 with a pension -- a thing of the past. his brother is a retired cop -- put in his 20 years, but still does security work to make ends meet -- not old enough for SS.
