Tonight's Ipsos poll is extremely imporant

Since Ipsos polls the last 5 days, which is very similar to Pew's last 4 days.

If Obama is still ahead by 2% or so on Reuters/Ipsos, the chances that Pew is an outlier is good. If Romney somehow takes a 2% lead or so in Ipsos, then we're in trouble.

Does anyone know if due to Columbus Day Ipsos will not release today's poll? It's kind of late.

Please don't worry about the national polls. It's the state polls that count.

But national polls matter too.

They effect the media narrative and momentum

The PEW poll was made, in part, last Thursday and Friday, when folks were responding to pollsters with their emotions over the debate. Every analyst quoted, respected and read by DU members, report that Romney's debate bounce was not great and is declining. There is a Gallup Poll posted in the "Breaking News" area, it shows a 5 point lead for the Prez. It's a good read

And right now, Romney's still suffering the backlash from the "I wanna kill Big Bird" fiasco. A lot of mothers in particular weren't at all happy about that, even including some moderate right-leaning centrists. Obama's already hit him on some things, and even though he was a tad off his game last night, he still managed to play a decent hand and Romney's not likely to win over too many people with his constant flip-flopping, either.

A little less optimistic than I'd hoped, but still good for the President nevertheless.
