2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie's Pressor..just now. Now we know his "priority" is to get elected President...
In response to a question about the issues affecting child poverty in SC Sen Sanders was asked what would his priorities be. His response was that his priority is to get elected President. I was stunned.
This is all I will say about that comment. What kind of headline would you expect to see all over the place and what kind of comments would you expect to hear IF Hillary had made the same comment in response to the same question?

(3,089 posts)what he said. You just can't spin that to make it look like a stupid question by the press. It was a very relevant question and he could have use the opportunity to make a more substantive response.

(3,649 posts)Who criticized Bernie for staying on point during his Baltimore press conference? You know, when the press kept asking him foreign policy questions when he was there to talk about racial injustice?

(12,655 posts)obviously he can't do anything about poverty as president if he isn't president
lets be accurate, please...the corporste media wasted this entire press conference trying to convince bernie his campaign is over.
why don"t you ask THEM how important poverty is to them. we KNOW its importsnt to bernie

(42,862 posts)... people would likely be saying that "she's in it for herself" and "she's only interested in power" (blah-blah-blah... the usual yadda-yadda-yadda that we've already seen a million times before).
No doubt there would also be a liberal sprinkling of the world "oligarch" and "bankster" and "corporatist" ... the ones that have been so over-used that they've lost all meaning and are (for all "intensive" purposes) now regarded as little more than a punch-line.
Go, Hillary! We love you!
