Once again, posting from a "protected" group outsiders cannot reply to,

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by mcar (a host of the 2016 Postmortem forum).

a DU member apparently supporting Secretary Clinton states/alleges/complains that the media is not giving sufficient coverage to HRC's expected victory over Senator Sanders.

What planet does this arise from?

There is more coverage of Sanders of late because of his movement up in the polls, and also the results of the first three contests. The media loves that now because the media loves conflict and contests. It does, as William Randolph Hurst maintained, sell papers.

I simply cannot imagine a way in which anyone who has paid attention to the way in which this contest has played out cannot see how one-sided and unfair the M$N's coverage has been. They have been "in the tank" for the Clinton campaign since before Sanders announced and have only given any sort of coverage to that campaign since the reality on the ground forced them to.

How many times have we heard/seen/read how black voters are overwhelmingly supportive of HRC? How many times have we been informed that Sanders simply can't win? How many times has...

Oh, never mind. Claiming the M$M is doing less than everything in its power to forward the campaign of the "expected victor" as she is almost universally described is hard to take seriously.

I just am annoyed that these kinds of things are posted in a way that they cannot be directly responded to by any of that growing number of DU members (including myself) that have been barred from the Clinton group.

What is most obvious about the Hillarians is their conceit.

They simply behave as if they or their candidate should not be challenged.

It is HER turn, she has earned it, only sexists oppose her, debating HER record is a smear, examining HER past is hate, and, oh yeah .... "First Woman President!"

The mainstream media just like in 2008 has been very deferential towards Clinton and even now acts like she is "The Inevitable One" and those who oppose her are just politically naive rubes.

The interesting thing is that the more endorsements she gets, the more corporate, banking, oil contributions she receives, the more the Hillarians retreat into their 'safe place' to lob smug grenades at Sanders supporters -- the worse she does.

Over the last two or three days there is a distinct backlash growing at this 'you better get on board with Hillary or else' attitude.

I'm thinking that Sanders is poised to do a lot better than the Hillarians and the MSM want to believe right now.

Hillary isn't one of us.

Just bumbling along one day I tried to reply to a Clinton Group post which showed up on my screen and learned, to my amazement, that I had been banned. I have no idea why and no one seemed inclined to give any explanation. Apparently someone took exception to something I posted, though I have no idea what it might have been.

Even so, postings from the "protected sanctuary" appear regularly and some, like the one that set me off, call for a reply. However, I and the hundreds of others banned from the Clinton group have no way to reply to the thread, no matter how outrageous.

The claim that set me off this morning was that the media was not given enough coverage to the upcoming South Carolina primary. To me, a longtime political geek, this was insane. Thanks to the M$M I now know much more about South Carolina, and the devotion of its black voters to Hillary Clinton than I had any interest or need to know.

Okay, the M$M tells me that AA voters will overwhelmingly support HRC. Okay, fine. Claiming that Tweetie and the Toad, and the others have not spent most of the last year praising HRC and dismissing or ignoring Sanders, that is not fine.

Posting claims like that and using the group status to prevent pushback, that isn't fine either.

If you have something to say, say it. Don't hide from other people's responses.

but people are posting in those groups by their choice. And their choice is NOT to put it out in the war zone that is GD-P.

While we advocate for our candidates and are tempted to call BS every time we read I think we should keep in mind that outside of the active primary period, DU has been 95%+ supportive of Hillary when she is under attack from FOX and the GOP with Benghazi and all that, so some on DU may be struggling with the more mixed tone of DU right now.

Consider this (please): Hillary has been under constant attack for decades so it stands to reason that her campaign is attracting and retaining people who identify with that. In other words people feel attacked or empathize with those who are and are very sensitive to it such that they over react to all criticism or perceived criticism of Hillary. Those who are the most sensitive or who simply aren't in the mood for GD-P may choose to post in the Hillary Group. That is their choice.

the issue is the worst I've seen. What good is it to participate on a public forum about the Democratic Party what a large percent of the posts cannot be responded to?

Your point could have been made on it's own. Why are people so sensitive over these groups. They are an important part of du.

I was kicked out of the Sanders group and only have one post in that group. One hundred percent positive for Sanders. Who gives a shit.
