Please watch and share this video that drives home what we've been talking about! #WhichHillary
OMG, this video has it all, the whole story of Hillary's involveent in the Crime Bill, in video clips. It next covers her "work" for children. Then covers her use of race to her own advantage in the 2008 election. It's brought up to today, with her standing by Rahm Emanuel and the recent shooting protests, ending with a clip from Ashley Williams' own protest at HRC's private fundraiser the other day. This all in Hillary's own words and clips from the time. Posted just today. YOU MUST SEE THIS!

I was afraid AAs were making a terrible mistake.
Millennials like Ashley Williams could save us all.
Note to jury: I believe everyone should have as much information as possible before making the decision of who to choose for president. For this reason, I applaud Ashley Williams, a young African American member of the BLM movement, for gathering video footage of Hillary Clinton that not everyone may have seen until today. Now, hopefully, voters will have more information at their disposal when they go into the voting booth.
Clearly, this is what Ms. Williams intended when she made this excellent video.

(9,385 posts)Ashley also tweeted about a follow up article on her protest in the Charlotte Observers (North Carolina). According to that article she is a student there:

I said earlier, I think she deserves an A+ in protesting skills.

(27,588 posts)They shouted slanderous lies at the crowd.
Lies, is that how to build a successful movement? What reaction did they expect?
They called a crowd of white progressives / liberals, "white supremacist liberals". That is not accurate, that is a lie -- an ugly, nasty, slanderous lie at that.
I was 13 when MLK gave his "I have a dream" speech, and I followed all the events in the years afterward. I don't remember him ever shouting lies at a crowd. If you look at film of the 1963 March on Washington crowd, there are a LOT of whites there (roughly 20%). He didn't tell them to shut up and they're part of the problem.
What he did do, is describe a better society, and lead concrete steps toward achieving it. That inspired people, and they followed of all colors. It's the "vision thing", that's what is entirely lacking here. People are motivated by that, not by being berated, and having their past efforts for equality whatever they may be, counted for absolutely nothing.
Wouldn't the natural impulse be to say to themselves after that, fine do it yourself then. What is so surprising about that? If that's the end BLM is trying to achieve, the Seattle Two are doing a good job of it.
They aren't demonstrating to me that Black Lives Matter to them, because they're doing everything they can to strip away the only white allies they have. That tells me they don't really care about effecting any change, regardless of their words. People encouraging this are encouraging that same failure, so how much do they really care as well?
I see it as an attempted psychological manipulation game, and not much more. I don't see it preventing one police shooting. Not now, not ever.
QUOTED VERBATIM FROM THE JOURNAL OF DUER WAITING FOR EVERYMAN August 15, 2015 who now thinks "They, and she, sure could save us all."

(9,385 posts)I praise what's worthy of it and criticize what's worthy of that. As I always do. This shouldn't need a road map, it's common sense.
I think the two BLM actions could be a text-book study in what to do and what not to do, and why. The contrast couldn't be more complete.

"First, I must confess that over the last few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season."

sabrina 1
(62,325 posts)you support the rights of ALL Americans, why on earth would you say 'as a White person I wouldn't tell a Black person who to vote for'?? You should not TELL anyone who to vote for!
Why the singling out of Black people?
But as a citizen, Black or White, who wants the best for this country you would surely want ALL voters to have as much information as possible so they can cast their votes based on FACTs, not on campaign rhetoric.
Your reasoning makes zero sense to me whatsoever.
How is providing information that a young woman who happens to be AA, wants people to have, 'telling Black People who to vote for'??? Where is the logic in that?
Would you deprive Black people from having all the information they need in order to make the best decision possible for THIS COUNTRY? Because that is what your answer sounds like to me. 'Let's not provide this information in case some Black people here see it'. Trust me, DU has little influence over what Black people. What I get from this conversation is that your real issue is not 'Ashley' or the issues facing AAs it is to try to protect a CANDIDATE, a politician.
Well, keeping it off DU won't do that. 'Ashley' and a growing number of very prominent as well as not so prominent people, Black and White are making sure the information gets to as many voters as possible, as it should

Most people are not political operatives who approach elections as team sports. Most people are serious about elections being about ISSUES that matter to them.
DU partisans in no way represent a majority of Americans.
It says a lot about a person how they react to FACTS and pretty much tells you if you are talking to a regular person or someone with an agenda.
What changed me from being a Clinton supporter was her vote on the Iraq War, to begin with. Then learning of their close relationship with the Bushes, which at first I doubted but once it became clear it was the truth, that ended my support for them.

It was so incredibly and nauseatingly cynical that it didn't even matter to them that what they were attempting in these smears was a complete logical fallacy. As long as enough rubes out there believed one, the other or both, it was worth the effort.

That one where she just points in their faces like a typical politician, in such a condescending manner, when she should have been having a real conversation as a real person with compassion is so awful. Then the way she pretends to be talking to Ashley while Ashely is being forcibly ejected, who does that? Have her ejected or address her. You can't have it both ways. That was Hillary in a nutshell. Ignoring the real issue while trying to show she cares about it by saying something, anything. And then once she sees Ashely is gone it's "back to the issues". So BLM is apparently not an issue for Hillary.
Despicable.
