David Plouffe on that bogus Mason/Dixon Florida Poll

Quote of the Day
"It's impossible for us to be at 44 in Florida."

-- Obama adviser David Plouffe, quoted by the Tampa Bay Times, on a new Mason-Dixon poll shows Mitt Romney leading in Florida, 51% to 44%.

No other poll of Florida even comes close to that. Some have Obama up and a few have Romney up, but by no more than a point or two.

That's a campaign's job afterall, BUT, Plouffe appears to be right.

The day before, Obama was (+4) and (+1) in 2 other Florida polls.

And this poll showed Romney winning Latinos over Obama by 7 points - also at odds with polling by Latino Decisions giving Obama a large lead with Latinos.

While Republicans do better with the Cuban-American vote, this poll appears to have some problems with its demographic sampling according to other reports I've seen.

So I believe him completely, especially if he used those words. Plouffe doesn't mince.

expect more small republican pollsters to desperately try the same thing
as romney's numbers continue to slide.
