2016 Postmortem

because she is a passionate advocate and her message will resonate with women across the country. Watch the end of this short clip, after she crushes Scott Brown:

That is how you connect with voters. You show your passion, especially disdain for bad ideas, while remembering you're doing this for the good of the country.
Remember, the Republican party also wrote off 51% of the country women. Paul Ryan is the poster child for coat hanger abortions (and Mitt is too on alternate Tuesdays).
This is why we're pulling ahead in places like Arizona and North Carolina. Romney and Ryan have alienated half the country...twice.
And it couldn't happen to a more deserving pair of entitled, elitist, ideological con men.

(81,085 posts)entitled to rule. Why? Simply BECAUSE! They all speak and behave and conduct themselves and treat others with that elitism that reeks of entitlement. They just assume the White House, the Oval Office, the State House, the Senate and House, anywhere that rulers are supposed to be - THEY are supposed to be. It's their due and their birthright. They simply belong on the throne (and I'm NOT talking toilets, at least in THIS case) because they're meant to be there. Born to it! And besides, they're also better than the rest of us and just simply more entitled to it, anyway.
Meanwhile, the rest of us clearly understand that these assholes aren't entitled to ANYTHING more than any of the rest of us are entitled to! They're the ones who don't, because they don't think they have to.
That's where you get that smug, snooty, patronizing, holier-than-thou attitude that fuels that opportunistic, imperialistic American Exceptionalism bullshit.
That's where you get the overriding "It's OK if you're a republi-CON" attitude.
That's where you get the "those rules don't apply to MOI!" belief system. Especially when they've managed over the past 30 years or so to fuse this with the religious extremist "Christianists" - so they then also believe that what they have is not simply the right to rule, but rather a DIVINE right to rule, because God is supposedly on their side.
It may be fine in some systems, like feudalism of old, but it's incompatible with what many of them ironically insist quite loudly that they believe in: a democracy, or even a democratic republic.

(296,775 posts)there were many here who were wondering why Elizabeth wasn't winning in Mass. Seems like a long time ago.
Elizabeth had a Good Ground Operation going on that wasn't known outside Mass..and, slowly slowly with Excellent Debate showing and all Scott had to offer was "Look at her..she doesn't look Native American" and favorite SC judge: "Scalia".. Ooooops.
