2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumThis anxiety is killing me. I can't wait for Mar 15 when Hillary puts this race away
Fortunately that's just 10 days away. Unlikely for the race to shift significantly in either way.

(50,254 posts)This is still a campaign of equals, and Bernie has won the argument on the issues of the day.

(30,247 posts)That doesn't mean that Sanders should be pushed out or pressured to drop out. If party leaders approach him, it will be more in the context of pivoting to attacking Trump, not Hillary. Sanders has attracted many supporters and he should be treated with respect. Otherwise, the party will not unite to vanquish the real enemy, Republicans.

(872 posts)War, Wall Street, lying... Sound familiar?
I'm in complete agreement with you. If Sanders doesn't get the nomination, it's yet another election with the unenviable option of choosing the least evil candidate or not voting at all. In my case, if the nominee of any party voted in favor of the IWR, they're not getting my vote.

(15,366 posts)is to focus on the facts. Here is the best site for keeping track of today's elections. http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results
Here is a good site for keeping track of the delegate counts: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/democratic_delegate_count.html
They're still counting in Louisiana. 75% counted as I post. Clinton has already won 28 delegates there and will pick up more when all the votes are counted. Bernie passed the 15% threshold, so he'll get some too but they likely won't show at all until the final votes are counted. http://www.nytimes.com/elections/results/louisiana

(50,254 posts)Bernie's wins this weekend(he's going to take 3 out of 4)will build momentum his way.
And unless you're a DLC type, you shouldn't WANT this to end on 3/15.
If Bernie did drop out before the primaries ended, HRC would instantly default back to Bill's '96 platform.

(34,165 posts)If HRC wins the nomination and GE, she'll be hearing the same criticism starting November 9th.
Its about the issues -- not the person.

(40,416 posts)Take a breath and relax. Enjoy the election season. The only thing we have to prove this year is that the Democratic Party has one helluva good slate of candidates. It is our job to have as much fun getting them into office without pissing off fellow Democrats.
It really is that simple.
Have some fun, but be kind.
