PRESS RELEASE
Sanders Wins Kansas
MARCH 5, 2016

WARREN, Mich. Bernie Sanders issued the following statement on Saturday after the Kansas Democratic Party announced he won the states caucuses, which saw a larger turnout this year than in 2008:
I thank the people of Kansas for their strong support.
People used to ask, Whats the matter with Kansas? It turns out that theres nothing the matter with Kansas when you give people a clear choice and involve them in the democratic process.
We have now won double-digit victories from New England to the Rocky Mountains to the Great Plains to the Midwest. Democrats in Kansas today added to a column of double-digit victories in Minnesota, Colorado, Oklahoma, New Hampshire and Vermont. We also came from behind and ended up in virtual ties in Iowa and Massachusetts. We have the momentum. We have a path toward victory. Our campaign is just getting started and we are going all the way to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

(10 posts)Hi JonLeibowitz,
It's fascinating, isn't it??
"They" put so much stock into Iowa results, too-- and the data shows that Iowa's Democratic winner is only the nominee 50% of the time, and the Republican nominee less than 43% of the time!
Additional information on caucus/ primary results of the last 50 years can be found on the Analytics@American blog, https://onlinebusiness.american.edu/blog/presidential-primary-predictions/
Thanks!!

(10 posts)Hi Segami,
LOVE that you're sharing this important data-- 50 years of election results are not insignificant, and as our access to data grows exponentially, our ability to decipher it becomes more and more detrimental!
Would you be able to edit your post to provide credit to the Analytics@American program for creating the infographic? The blog post also provides more insight into caucus and primary season; it's a very interesting read.
