Related: About this forumNewsflash: Not every criticism of Bernie or Hillary is "SPIN"
In my short time here I've really noticed that whenever someone offers a legit criticism of either candidate, everyone goes to their corners and offers up a dismissive "Oh its just MSM spin or Clinton spin" or "Oh they've always had it out for Hillary" or "Its because she's a woman" Some of it is EXACTLY THAT but not everything is.
LISTEN...not every criticism or bad article is some conspiracy against your candidate or some spin coming from the other group. Some criticisms are warranted and legit flaws in your candidate that their supporters need to be more humble about and accept. I've seen so much horrible explaining of Bernie's "ghetto" comment last night. It was BAD. His attempt to clarify it today may have been even worse. Hillary's superpredator comment was BAD!! Her racial overtones toward Obama when she ran against him in 2008 were BAD!! Both candidates have current and past flaws for which neither are above criticism for they are running for the nation's highest office. But not every article or every topic of criticism is spin.
I wish everyone could just take a breath and let the nastiness go down a bit. I like Hillary. I like Bernie. I'm undecided. I see flaws in both. I see greatness in both. I'll be happy when this is over. Maybe DU will be a happier place. Discord is fine. Even as Democrats and liberals we don't agree on everything and its great to have discussions with those who don't agree with you on everything and let you see their perspective, as long as its respectful. Sometimes we have to agree to disagree. I'm really worried about the vitriol going forward and how it may affect whichever candidate is the nominee in November. Play nice everyone. Besides, its almost SPRING!!!!

(14,177 posts)Most criticism is spin as it almost always lacks nuance. And it's almost always out of context. That is the society we live in people don't want complicated answers to complicated problems and they don't want to take 20 minutes to think about if something is good, bad, or a mixed bag they just want the sound bites that tell them right off it's good or bad, grey areas are uncomfortable.
