(5,798 posts)If you can stomach the RW swill, you'll witness the political geek equivalent of a solar eclipse. Maybe this was the plan all along - try to keep the delegates close and the media interest high through summer? However, I see no scenario right now that ends well for the GOP in a brokered convention unless Trump can be perceived as picking the candidate. Otherwise, he and his followers will take their ball, go home, and start an independent run.

(23,156 posts)For the Democrats, Stevenson in 1952. And those both were the last brokered conventions either party had. Both have changed things so that a brokered convention is far less likely than in the past.
