(262 posts)I joined a gun club several years ago that REQUIRED me to be a member of the NRA. I complied with the rule for similar reasons as you but, it turns out, you have to be a member for several years before you can vote and... well... I couldn't tolerate them that long.
I envy you!
You should use your position as a NRA voter to make your voice heard.
Tell 'em to give up on politics and go back to teaching marksmanship, gun safety and training the US Olympic team like they did when my dad was a teacher for the NRA... before HE quit because the NRA started fighting to let people keep "assault weapons."
But, seriously, you did good. That's funny. I love it. Nice job.

(14,704 posts)in 2008 they sent out this really expensive-looking 'survey' about gun issues and where, according to them, Obama and McCain stood on said issues. It was complete and utter bullshit. I answered every question, then checked off 'Obama' in the space where they asked 'Now who are you going to vote for?' . . . then stuffed the envelope with paper just to make them pay for the extra postage.
I love fucking with the NRA ! ! !

(4,113 posts)and Romney/Ryan will protect our rights to own guns.
Didn't Romney sign off on some gun restriction bill as Massachusetts governor? Conversely, what has Obama even remotely said or done to give anyone the impression he's taking away our guns?
NRA has all of the credibility of a kleptomaniac in a jewelry store.

(374 posts)which makes him better than the Party has been the past four years on that one issue, but fortunately the Party is not anti-police and anti-goverment so overall Obama is still fortunately a net positive on the issue of safety.
