(40,898 posts)mostly because I'll be in a class but you reminded me that Rmoney sounds so creepy! Now he does the fake Reagan voice, I'm sure he pays some actor 500 an hour for lessons, what an azz.

Two distinct different points of view on romney at Town Halls.. Andrea Mitchell's and Sarah Jones
Here's another debate Vid starring mitt, worth noting.. "Angry Under Pressure"

(19,458 posts)And the way he put his hand on the other guy... shocked he didn't deck him. This is how he acted in the first debate, and for some reason the pundits ignored it, but my friends all talked about what a rude asshole he was.

(1,495 posts)R can look everyone in the eyes and say whatever he thinks they want to hear to make the sale. He also lists points. ie: What I'm going to do is 1. some lie, 2. another lie, 3. something impossible and 4. another lie.
Obama has to list things that he did, what the future will hold if elected, PLUS hit Rom at the same time. No more pointing out that he agrees with R on anything. No more compliments like "we both want what's best for America, but we just have different opinions on how to do it" type stuff. R does not want what's best for America. Never has, never will.
When R says #1 energy independence, prez needs to tell everyone that we are exporting more oil than ever. That it's our #1 export. Supply isn't the problem, it's greedy oil companies putting profit above America... which he can then tie into Romney's company shipping jobs to China for profit.
There is so much ammo, but I just don't think Obama is willing to "lower" himself to laying it all out there. He seems to expect the moderator or media to say something -- or for people to just inherently know that mittens if full of bs. Or for his ads to do his talking for him.
Very frustrating considering the media opinions afterward will no doubt skewer Obama. If he's calm, he's not engaged. If he's lively, then he's trying to be Biden. They already say he has to crush romney, so it's impossible to live up to the pre-debate requirement for his success.

(33,497 posts)give it to Romney. They are doing all they can to elect him. It's all about that lousy debate that they harp on and give little time to better job numbers or expanding economic confidence.

(7,581 posts)He has to talk to real people, unfiltered!! That hasn't happened in a while to him, he will be off his game. They said that he has been practicing this format, but he can practice all he wants with his sycophants - a town hall is not a forum to spew talking points. You have to answer the questions of those real people. Not Romney's strong suit.

(19,458 posts)My god.. there are enough of them out there. He freaks out and starts yelling OVER them, interrupting them, shouting at them, THEN he says.. "we're done. If you're not willing to listen to me!!" He is a classic narcissist. They do NOT do well with people questioning them on anything. Mitchell is an idiot libertarian.

(340 posts)no matter what lies or BS Romney is spewing, he DELIVERS it well and makes people believe it with that evil looking smile and blink job he does.

(29 posts)I guess I don't get it. I thought a place like this would have lots of supportive people, collecting the most interesting and positive signs for us. Why on Earth would this kind of format be bad for our President? For god's sake, you see him all the time enjoying people; and it is not fake like Romney. You see kids reacting to him in a loving manner. Kids know. People love to have a beer with Obama. Romney sits down with two veterans, and ends up with a red face, because the fellow just happens to be gay.
How about the moment a Pizza guy asks permission to hug Obama, and we saw our President in a bear hug..feet off the floor. Ever see Mittens like that?
I am kind of sick of all this garbage. He may..he may not..maybe this and maybe that. I am going to stand strong and support my President.and believe he will knock one out of the park tonight. Andrea..sure you are on our side?
