4. I have never been more disappointed in NPR than during this primary.
And I'm a long-standing contributor...
I don't listen as much as I used to because I don't commute by car, and the only radio I own is there (yeah, I know...internet radio). But I've always expected NPR to be the least biased major(ish) news source. That confidence eroded in 2008, and is pretty much shattered now. |

There's also corporate underwriting, but the majority of NPR funding comes from pledge drives, personal contributions, government funding (thus also us), etc. Seriously reconsidering my modestly generous pledge...

9. NPR has leaned right for years
Just like network and cable news channels, they feature members of AEI, CEI, Heritage, Cato, et al whenever they need "unbiased" third party commentary. And when they're not slanting the news, NPR sticks with safe "public interest" stories.
I was a faithful listener of NPR many years ago, but beginning in the 80s, it's taken a long march to the right. |

28. I first noticed it back in 1992
when various NPR commentators, most specifically Cokie Roberts, assured us over and over again that Bill Clinton had zero chance of winning the nomination, or the Presidency. I began to understand the entire "Inside the Beltway" mentality, although I'd noticed that during the 1970's when I actually lived in the DC area. That mindset has only strengthened in the decades since, and they are all like people who don't believe anyone else is entirely real.
Well, we are real, and we actually are an amazing and diverse bunch in this country. |

56. Yes, you got it..
You can easily detect the bias towards the status quo and The Establishment mindset. Even when they try to give Bernie "equal time" (remember that) they seem to always frame the question with Hillary in mind, and the "experts" always seem to do the same.
NPR is like Radio Free America aimed at US Citizens-- telling us what to think. I mean they report on war, war, war, like they're covering a sport and they they're a bunch of homers. Anyway, it's disheartening sometimes to think that a lot of people hear what they say as the unvarnished truth, when it's just propaganda for the powers that be. p.s. Looking in the concept of "examination of dissent" and you'll see how deep a mind fuck propaganda can be. And, watch "The Century of The Self" BBC (?) series of docs by Adam Curtis (search youtube) -- and OMG, just Wow. |

16. Don't they have a Republican CEO?
I have been boycotting NPR since before 2008. They are reliably biased. False and misleading information is seldom if ever challenged.
In 2008 I was fishing and listening to NPR. A propaganda piece came on. I was shocked by the nature of the narrative. I was even more shocked when the host said absolutely nothing to refute such an obvious blatant lie. I refuse to listen to an American Pravda. |

21. Not according to his Wikipedia profile, anyway.
Mohn has contributed to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Gephardt for President, Gore 2000, John Kerry for President, McCain 2000, Obama Victory Fund 2012, and the Progressive Patriots Fund[1]
The only glitch there is McCain 2000, but after W got the nomination, apparently he flipped to Gore. That was right at the peak of McCain's "maverick" period, when he was actually advocating some sensible election reforms, and so forth. Unfucking elections being a huge, huge issue, I can understand Mohn's position. Overall, I'd have to consider Mohn a liberal, albeit more in the Hillary mold than the Sanders mold. |

They handed it to the 1% who now own it -- with a little help from people (like me) who still contribute.

39. Hard to say at this point.
Hillary's no longer "inevitable" (never was...), but remains the front runner, and by a not-insignificant margin. This is likely to go down to the wire.
Of course, even if it's by a single pledged delegate, the superdelegates had better flip to the popular choice. If they don't, the party dies right then and there (for all that the death throes will be long and painful). |

curiously, dolores huerta also brought up how bernie had voted against the immigration bill in '07. yet neither bothered to clarify why bernie voted against the '07 bill but did vote in favor of the '08 bill. two minority icons - now lying for hillary. it seems they all (including all of the msm) get their morning scripts and orders for talking points for the day from hillary's campaign - and they all fall into line spouting lies. |
